A few years ago, I penned a piece titled “Democratic Party Platform 2020,” which was viewed many times on several different “platforms,” including this one. (American Thinker always comes first.)
As we approach the 2026 and 2028 elections, I thought it might be a good time to update said piece, especially given current events.
Though Democrats don’t usually say much other than “Trump bad,” “Republicans fascists,” and “no one should ever have the right to disagree with anything we are — and aren’t — saying,” here is what the Democrats' updated platform appears to be, in a casual format:
*We reserve the right to ban cigarettes, cigars, and pipe and chewing tobacco, while legalizing marijuana and khat sales nationwide, with supply — and demand -- spurred by government subsidy.
*We will place additional common-sense restrictions on the sale and manufacture of firearms while simultaneously providing subsidies to our Muslim illegal alien community to help them purchase the knives and swords they so desperately need.
*We will place common-sense restrictions on the practice of Christianity -- and its possibly even more evil cohort, nationalism — while providing the welcoming environment that our peaceful and burgeoning Muslim community needs to continue to thrive. We will strive to aid CAIR and other organizations — foreign and domestic — that assist Muslims in continuing to insert -- and assert -- themselves into Western society.
*We vow to starve ideologically driven faux media outlets like Fox News and the New York Post of all funding, while shutting down any and all platforms they have to reach their audience, while at the same time lavishly funding and supporting unbiased outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, Slate, Salon, the Daily Beast, the Huffington Post, and the New York Times, to name a few.

*We will strive to add a new gender identity every year, to be announced on New Years Day.
Whatever happened to all that joy?
The Democrat Crime Syndicate is working non-stop to destroy this great republic. Many foreign and domestic enemies aid and abet.
In all seriousness, I don’t know what the Democrats are going to run on.
They can say “Trump is bad”, but Trump isn’t running, so this message is a little weak.
The number of young people claiming to be transgender seems to be dropping dramatically, so transgender issues are not so powerful anymore.
People will still play the race card, but reports of black fatigue seem very high. A lot of blacks are tired of blacks, so racial politics isn’t as powerful as it used to be.
The Democrats seem to be pushing against Law and Order. I guess law enforcement is bad. This doesn’t strike me as a winning idea.
Tariffs are giving us a lot of revenue. The Democrats oppose this?
Trump wants less emphasis on income tax. The Democrats oppose this?
I really don’t see a whole lot for Democrats to build on.
They can still cheat, but that isn’t easier than it was in 2024, I think it’s harder than it was in 2024.
Mid-terms do tend to go against the White House, so there is that, but in terms of actual issues, what have the Democrats got?
😂 Thanks for the link.
Excellent post, pretty much sums up my thinking too.
All financed with drug cartel money.

Now on sale, I highly recommend you get a few of these to give out on Christmas.
"A great book for your reading enjoyment." -- Tweet from President Donald Trump
"Thorough." -- Ben Shapiro, New York Times bestselling author of Bullies
“Michael Knowles perfectly documents what's inside the minds of Democrats. A real page-turner!” -- Michelle Malkin, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Sold Out
“I read it twice!” -- Dennis Prager, New York Times bestselling author of The Ten Commandments
“Brilliantly argued! You will not find a more enlightened defense of liberalism. Ever.” -- Jason Mattera, New York Times bestselling author of Obama Zombies
“Insightful, yet remarkably easy reading!” -- Guy Benson, bestselling author of End of Discussion
"The most efficient way to learn about the issues that Democrats really care about. This is a must read." -- Katie Pavlich, New York Times bestselling author of Assault and Flattery
"The reasons to vote for Democrats can be subtle and complex, but Knowles boils them down to their essence." -- Andrew Klavan, New York Times bestselling author of The Great Good Thing
“Mid-terms do tend to go against the White House, so there is that”
I hope not. I don’t think I can stand two years of Hakim Jeffries trying to impeach Trump.

And, as long as the dem-driven legacy media continues to report this as a foregone conclusion, it will come true.
“TV Americans” will just nod and say, “The media said it would happen.”
The cheating will be down-played (again) by the media.
I agree. The left has become the party of crime , mental illness and death. Illegal immigrants, criminal rights, gender dysfunction and abortion are the hills they die on….
The call to arms will be “affordability” which of course they had the largest part of destroying. They will ignore things are actually getting better and will conveniently forget a huge influx of illegal immigrants and spending money are the two biggest culprits for the costs of things these days and the low wages folks work for.
Good one. The Respect for Marriage Act repealed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and gives the Left ultimate power to restrict opponents of their evil.
All their paid social media influencers turned out to be foreign deadbeats.
Little Jimmy Himes who represents the Connecticut landfill and his Party of Death DemonRATS have decided to put the foreign drug cartels and their toasted “shipwrecked fishermen sailors” first. The DemonRATS couldn’t care less about Americans. Himes has got to go. He’s an American hater. Hims is a commie pig.
This is all completely true. So why did the democrats do so well in November and December of 2025?
They won races they were forecasted to win mainly.
But seriously, it appears from here that they going to run on the “Affordability crisis”. I’m seeing that phrase show up EVERYWHERE. Like “climate change” did right before they stepped into it bigly.
