The suspect’s grandmother, Loretta, told The New York Post: “He’s almost autistic-like because he doesn’t understand a lot of stuff. I hope he is not talking.” She also alleged: “He’s very naive…He would not hurt a fly. He’s just not that kind of person. I don’t believe this at all. He’s not a terrorist.”
The grandmother told The Post that Cole works for the family’s bail bondsman company, “Brian Cole Bail Bonds.” She added that he also worked for DoorDash for a time. “He doesn’t have any ties to DC,” she added. “I don’t even know how they included him in this.”
The suspect’s step-grandfather, Earl Donnette, “said in a brief phone call to NBC News that he spoke with the FBI about his step-grandson,” the network reported. However, Donnette declined to make additional comment, NBC News reported, and Brian Cole Sr., Cole’s dad, declined to make any comment at all, NBC News reported.

Stop posting racist crap.
Grow up.
It ain't rocket science; anybody with a higher-than-room-temperature IQ can figure it out.
Excellent question..
“ naive, autistic misfits seem the go-to choice for government or political operatives to groom for doing their dirty deeds”
This is quite likely the case. He started buying parts to make a pipe bomb in the summer. The FBI knew who he was for five years, but did not arrest him.
Sure, I know I could figure it out...I’m sure the internet is lousey with “how to” instructions.
My point is his granny is playing him off as an imbecile......but he’s smart enough to gather the materials, assemble the bombs and place them strategically......he ain’t no complete moron.
Granny just tryin’ to protect......and you can expect the race card any time now.
Me neither.
Theory #3: #1 & #2 are tells as to the players of this ‘game’, in conjunction with one or more people harboring enough influence to stymie investigations in 2 federal agencies (FBI & DOJ).
If communications are forthcoming - assuming they haven’t already been wiped - then my ‘theory #3’ is dem power brokers, perhaps associated with the witch of the west.
If communications are NOT forthcoming - i.e., ‘wiped’ - then nothing is ever provable except by elimination for #4:
“Echoes of Crooks,” and left a fall guy who will probably be deemed incompetent to stand trial (if reports are accurate).
That stated, it’s a nice piece of drama to distract from the anti-Trump media narrative, isn’t it? /s
He was just getting his life together to go to college.
My nephew is technically a genius(IQ 140).
He just finished his BA/BS degree at the London School of Economics. He currently trying to get into graduate programs.
He lives in TX when not in London. I have only met him once.
He was about 21 at the time. When we met he did not look me in the eye and gave me the dead fish hand shake. My son was there too. My son’s impression was that his cousin was on the spectrum too.
My son graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Biotechnology. He is a Scientist at a major Pharma company. Yet, when his cousin started telling him about the type of Economics he was studying, my son was lost too. He said it was way over his head.
People on the spectrum may have to have someone looking after them as far as pay. If they don’t have any social skills, they can be taken advantage of.
This guy is probably different from John Hinckley. The Hinckley family and the Bush family were long time friends.
“I sure hope the parents didn’t use this guy as a pawn in some twisted political game.”
It’s a safe bet that SOMEBODY used him, or at least worked with him. Odd that the parents didn’t know their simple-minded son was buying bomb components. I wonder who he was communicating with — the official pronouncements are suspiciously quiet on that.
His family sued the Trump aAdmin for ICE activities.
THAT is where they poisoned their son and sent him out.
pulling the “autistic” card. Only he’s kinda, sorta.
he also worked for DoorDash for a time.
