Millennials and Gen Z have their turn
American Thinker ^ | 29 Nov, 2025 | Jay Davidson

Gen Z and Millennials will make up 60% of the votes in upcoming elections. The successful leaders will have done the work and articulated the principles that motivate this up-and-coming group. The old platitudes will not work. Neither will the old political parties.

These younger citizens reject the petulant Baby-Boomers’ vitriol and want answers to hard questions. These are the same questions every generation asks. It’s just gotten very real for this generation, and they want workable answers, not platitudes.

The excesses of past generations have finally come home to roost. The national debt crushes the younger generation’s ability to afford a home. Excessive federal spending on pipe dreams, like renewable energy, has robbed this generation of a reasonable lifestyle or career.

Young people want a strong , vibrant, free-market economy because they can work hard and smart and get ahead on their own efforts. They don’t want anything handed to them because it weakens their spirit.

They are tired of people who always kick the can down the road and say, “Let’s have a new government program to fix the problem.” Well, the movers and shakers of this generation see through that nonsense. They’ve seen the Federal Reserve destroy the buying power of their dollars by allowing inflation to cut into the buying power (dollar devaluation) of their money. They’ve seen a morally corrupt education system promise everything and deliver nothing. It’s become a system that tells what to think instead of teaching students how to think. They’ve seen a welfare and entitlement system create generations of despondent victims unable to break the bonds of a government handout.

They see their government hiring and paying bureaucrats at their expense, while they suffer under student loan debt and are unable to afford a starter house.

Specific individuals.

I am a Boomer and I am not responsible for the misery they have now. I am as disgusted as they are with things and have been for years. Blame the uniparty which was in operation even before boomers grew up.

The generation before me are the people that sent us to places like Vietnam which was a total disaster. Do I blame everyone in their generation for it?

Perhaps authors of articles like this would be wise to stop the blame because it is unfair to blame a whole group of people for the actions of some of those people.

Every group has identity politics—except white people.

Think about it.

They vote overwhelmingly for the party that caused the financial mess. They voted for Mamdani.

Choosing between Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo is like choosing between Vincente Guerrero (Mexican Revolution) and Niceto Alcalá-Zamora (Spanish Revolution). Neither earn a vote.

And when they vote for the pied piper socialist and that socialist doesn’t have the answers then what? Are conservatives suppose to be like the left now and cater to their victim mentality?

“They voted for Mamdani”

How did voters in Oregon, Texas, Ohio, or Massachusetts vote for Mamdani?

I don’t think most of Gen Z and Millennials see any of this. They vote overwhelmingly for the party that caused the financial mess. They voted for Mamdani.

Yes but the election was held in New York City. Besides most of the "natives" have left NYC.

Give New York City a few months to see the result of Millennials and Gen Z voting.

They won’t make the connection, of course, and will blame Trump and Boomers.

Of the ~20 houses on my Florida street, only 4 are lived in by boomers.

One of my younger homeowning neighbors is a software development manager, the others are in trades, lawnmowing or medical.

“Political malefactors like the Boomers? They were almost completely in charge when everything in America turned to crap right around year 2000.”

The best times to buy a house in my lifetime were ~2010 and ~2020.

Benjamin Franklin’s list of virtues:

Temperance: Eat not to dullness. Drink not to elevation.
Silence: Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself. Avoid trifling conversation.
Order: Let all your things have their places. Let each part of your business have its time.
Resolution: Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve.
Frugality: Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself: i.e. waste nothing.
Industry: Lose no time. Be always employed in something useful. Cut off all unnecessary actions.
Sincerity: Use no hurtful deceit. Think innocently and justly; and, if you speak, speak accordingly.
Justice: Wrong none, by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty.
Moderation: Avoid extremes. Forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.
Cleanliness: Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes or habitation.
Tranquility: Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.
Chastity: Rarely use venery but for health or offspring; never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another’s peace or reputation.
Humility: Imitate Jesus and Socrates.

The author is ignorant.

Ethnicity, gender, religion, and country of birth, are the strongest and most reliable predictors of USA political preference.

Gen Z is the last USA majority white (just 50%) generation.

Conservatives plus Republicans will be a minority political party for decades into the future - perhaps permanently.

“Diminishing Musharakah (Partnership-to-Ownership)

“This hybrid model blends partnership and leasing. You and the financier purchase the property together in stated shares—say 80% bank, 20% you. You pay rent on the bank’s share while gradually buying out that share, so its percentage “diminishes” over time. Once you acquire 100%, the partnership dissolves.”

Are conservatives suppose to be like the left now and cater to their victim mentality?

Nope.

But Conservatives need to acknowledge that the world has changed. Obama did fundamentally transform America (ex. Obamacare made healthcare far less affordable). The debt is real ($38T is a lot of money). The devaluation of the dollar (decades of inflation) is real. The affordability crisis is real (normal salaries are no longer sufficient to buy a house in many parts of the country).

Conservatives need to say that these are real problems.
Conservatives need to say that Progressive policies (ex. Obamacare) made things worse and not better.
Conservatives need to say that less government in their lives and in the economy will make things better.

What I mostly see is Conservatives saying "Suck it up. Things were tough in 1980 too! But I'm awesome and I was successful! If you're not successful today, you're a lazy loser!!"
(This is not an effective campaign slogan.)
