National Guardswoman Sarah Beckstrom shot by crazed Afghan refugee dead at 20 as heartbroken father says she ‘passed to glory’

Sarah Beckstrom, one of the West Virginia National Guard members shot in a cowardly ambush by an Afghan refugee Wednesday, has died.

The 20-year-old’s grieving father confirmed she died of her injuries in a heartwrenching Facebook post Thursday.

“My baby girl has passed to glory. If I don’t talk to you don’t be offend[ed] this has been a horrible tragedy,” Gary Beckstrom posted just after 6 p.m.

President Trump also announced the young Guard member’s passing during a Thanksgiving evening call to half a dozen military units to mark the holiday.

“She’s just passed away. She’s no longer with us. She’s looking down at us right now,” a somber Trump told the service members. “Incredible person, outstanding in every single way.”

You make a very insightful point. Having a strong sympathetic partner when you’re walking through those dark valleys of life makes all the difference in the world.

it may, but why put those words out like that? Speaking like that is speaking against God’s abilities to do any and everything far beyond what we can imagine.

People who write things like that make me wonder if they believe in God, truly, or have read all God can do to help a person heal from grief, or any situation.

God has reasons he allowed Sarah to leave this world now, and as she did. Just as He allowed Charlie to leave. Great and Beautiful and Joy Full things can come as result of a passing. it m ay take time but Thanksgiving can be wonderful again for Sarah’s family in ways we may never know.

I learned in processing grief that we hang on as long as we choose to. Many ways to move forward in joy, peace, etc comforted by the Holy Spirit, family, loved ones

I hope he dies slowly and painfully. Here is where the part of the Lord's Prayer, "as we forgive those who trespass against us" comes into play. Forgiveness of the undeserving does not come easy. But it is the Christian thing to do.

In 2003, my brother’s funeral was over the Thanksgiving holiday. He was in his 40s, and had a heart attack while playing with his four very young children. Thanksgivings now have a cloud.

This man drove from Washington state to kill National guardsman. He had no idea which guardsman or whether they would be male or female. He would have killed more but he was stpped by a brave man with a knife who rushed him while the killer was reloading.

This attack and this girl’s death have sickened and saddened me more than I have been in a long time.

It is all so unnecessary and so tragic.

When bush, obama and bidet sponsored the invasion of foreigners I knew we were in for change but not this much. Their legacy is tragedy and destruction and it goes on for generations without ending it just the way it began and as it exists, suddenly, brutally and tragically. These people are not our responsibility and we the people for the most part did not agree to bring them here. Bringing them here was an insult with malice or a mistake at best of soft headed sympathy and it needs to be corrected or the mistake is compounded.

We have fought wars and lost our treasures and rebuilt nations all across the globe the last nearly 100 years. We have done enough. We don’t need their trash or their problems. We have enough of our own and we will be lucky to get out of all that successfully.

So what was the motive for choosing to shoot her instead of all the others present? It should be asked, i do not believe it was coincidence.
