Patrick Mahomes has sparked fierce controversy on Thanksgiving after pouring ketchup all over his turkey dinner in a new commercial for Adidas.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, whose love for the tomato condiment is well documented, is seen sitting at a candle-lit table filled with popular Thanksgiving food in the ad for the sportswear giants.
'Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, return home, see family, and meet new friends,' he says before committing what many fans insist is a cardinal sin by reaching for the ketchup.
As he squeezes it all over a turkey leg, Mahomes then adds: 'Thanksgiving, is a time to eat.'
After watching him cover his Thanksgiving dinner in ketchup, a number of fans expressed their bemusement online.
One asked in astonishment: 'Did he put ketchup on that turkey leg???'
Another simply concluded: 'Disgusting!'
'Bro ketchup on the turkey? come on man,' wrote a third.
'Aye he gotta chill on the ketchup,' said a fourth.
While one joked about Kansas City's Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys: 'Just by him doing that, the Chiefs will lose.'
Some, however, expressed support for Mahomes' bizarre methods.
'I also put ketchup on everything. Lol Must be an east Texas thing,' said one.
While another put: 'The Return of the Ketchup. lol love it PM! Go Chiefs!'

Lots of sugar too. That’s why salsa is more of a go-to for me (although I have no idea how much salt/sugar is in Pace salsa. Should probably check).
Unacceptable for Mahomes to perpetrate such a horrific crime on this sacred national holiday. . However, if Josh Allen says it’s cool, I’m in with a bottle of Heinz.
Al least he didn’t put pineapple on his pizza.
Agreed.
I’m with you on this one.
Mr. John Milner, you do know that you have fully invalidated your post by revealing that you put ketchup on tenderloin, don’t you?!!!!!!
To each their own, as long as they’re not shoving it down my throat. I sprinkle curry powder on vanilla ice cream. Other people find it bizarre. I like it.
Sounds like Adidas found a way to get people talking about the ad without making fun of the shoes themselves.
An ad for another product has Mahomes engaged in a complex bathing ritual including bubble bath. They are having fun.
“pancake syrup on scrambled eggs and sugar on hard boiled eggs”
Never heard of anything like that. 😏
Yes. He does have that going for him.
When I make pizza, there’s pineapple on half — for hubby. 🤮
Sodium 230 mg
I don’t think Chiefs fans care what he puts on his turkey and that they just care that the Chiefs win.
Never buy any Heinz product. That’s the John Kerry brand.
I put “Catsup” on macaroni and cheese, but not covered with it. My sisters too. And my wife will but NOT on her mom’s mac n cheese!
For a real treat, try bacon on rye toasted sandwich with peanut butter. Ive convinced a few people to try it and all are converts. Delish!
Try a fried egg on chili on toast with a topping of mango chutney!
I will!

"Nobody. I mean nobody puts ketchup on a turkey!"
I do too.
I’m not a fan of ketchup. There’s a small bottle in my fridge for guests who want it. The last time I used it was to make cocktail sauce for a shrimp boil I hosted in the summer.
I do have friends who put ketchup on odd things like mashed potatoes. More power to ‘em, I guess. LOL
