Workers at a South Boston pier found what appears to be a human skull buried in concrete, NBC10 Boston reported.

The workers were repairing concrete along the Black Falcon Terminal, a maritime facility managed by Massachusetts Port Authority, when they made the discovery, according to NBC10 Boston.

Authorities confirmed the skull is being examined by forensic anthropologist, NBC10 Boston reported.

False. Concrete is poured in ‘flats’. Shorter cure time.

Nobody is buried in Concrete in any dam in the U.S.

The Bureau of Land Reclaimation claims that there were 96 fatalities during the building of HOOVER Dam but no entombments. Boulder Dam is what FDR’s Secretary of the Interior Harold Ickes (his excretable son by the same name worked for President Clinton) called it, but Congress never changed its name.

A body falling into concrete would create a void, and compromise the structural integrity.

I recall in an engineering class they taught us that Hoover Dam was a continuous poor. They had spare trucks filled with mixed concrete in case one broke down there would always be a spare. They poured 24/7/365.

Many people who visit Hoover Dam ask: 1) How many people died building the dam?; and 2) How many of those are buried in the concrete? The second question is the easiest to answer -- none! No one is buried in Hoover Dam.

You just destroyed my entire worldview.

I thought the same thing when I first learned this and realized up to that point my life had been a lie.

Poured in ‘flats’.

If the dams had been poured in one shot, it would take several decades for it to cure.

Now, these days, chemical concrete can be poured and cure in days.

Local steel mill in Ambridge PA had a guy either fall or jump into a Bessemer Converter, a huge barrel shaped metal container that has oxygen blown into it while it’s filled with molten steel to burn off the impurities. This blows a column of flame about 15 ft wide and about 50 ft long out the end of it. Produces around 20 Ton of steel. Found out a curious fact, company did not scrap the batch the guy fell into. They looked up his medical record for his last weight,
and poured a small ingot weighing the same to give to the widow for burial.

More likely the body would be compacted by the wet concrete pressing from every direction, ending with a skeleton clothed in the solids after the 70 percent of the human that is liquid has been squeezed out.
I would guess death would be horrifying ,painful, and take less than a mknute...assuming continuos pour.

My understanding was that pipes were run through it to carry off the heat. It was in a course on engineering economics, not structures, so I won’t be adamant. The problem was how do you calculate how many spare truck to have on standby. I only have the most cursory adquantaince with the dam, but I do have the souvenier hard hat, and took the hard hat tour. Very cool.

>>it would take several decades for it to cure

From I have read in the past and now in a look-up, the concrete of Hoover dam is still curing.

You are correct. It is still curing and there are no bodies in it.

Concrete does heat up. Sometimes it needs help. Calcium or chemical.

I’ve heard some people claiming to be witnesses recently, saying Jimmy is in the concrete of the Detroit Renaissance Center.
