Maybe Atlantis, or some other island or some natural formations as one scientist suggests. Who Knows? Plato could have been writing about a real place, but fictionalized most of his story of how advanced they were. The research continues, so we'll see.

It’s the right general area. Under the mud flats of DoƱana National Park nearby is another location that is being explored.

“Atlantis” has been discovered in a number of locations offshore. Offshore is much nearer than it was 12000 years ago before the collapse of the Northern Hemisphere glaciers collapse. They can’t all be Atlantis but they could be remains of civilization at some level before the oceans rose. Population was tiny compared to today and would have been mostly near the seashore which was then inclusive of a lot of land that is now continental shelf. Much has been found in Doggerland and Sundaland and in the Black Sea, not to mention off of Cuba. Much fantasizing has been done about a very short reference by Plato to Atlantis.

If they find Atlantis, they will have to retcon Aquaman, Prince Namor, and Lori Lemaris.

If you lowered the oceans by 400 feet, this island appears in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.

I’ve always favored that the legend “Atlantis” was simply the memories turned legend of the world before the flood in Genesis.

Despite the island question, the sedimentary analysis is very interesting.
I would expect such old structures to be essentially buried by sediment - especially if closer to the continent - but I cannot locate the site.
I’ll await more info.

He documents his beliefs in the film "Atlantica," a 90-minute work shared with Fox News Digital. I also cannot find ANYTHING on this 'atlantica' film.
If it's so groundbreaking, why not share it on the web???

Plato got the story from an Egyptian priest, as did most of the things mistakenly attributed to the Greeks.

Atlantis was an allegory. Never existed, pure fiction. Everybody “researching” it is either a fool or a scam artist. Might as well look for R’lyeh.
