There was no argument. The son of a bitch randomly doused her with gas, she ran, he caught and torched her.
The only thing the police ever release is that there is an “argument.” If someone tries to take my phone, or if a man tries to rape a woman , yeah, there is going to be an argument. The police do this so that they can imply that both sides were in the wrong. Certainly no conspiracy. Maybe the n-word was used.
in reality, I would bet that the woman was just trying to get on the train to go home and was minding her business.

Are passengers allowed to bring containers of gasoline with them on Chicago trains? Do transit police make any effort to stop such a thing? Does it happen commonly? The attacker is ultimately to blame, but this wouldn’t have happened without worthless “security”.

We may never know who the “person of interest” is - or it will be reported - without mention of race or a photo - at the bottom of page 16.
Looks like the “person of interest” was looking to set someone on fire - he was already carrying flammable liquid and something to light it with.
Hope the woman survives, burns are a rough injury.
