Asking people to reapply is exactly what needs to be done.

**Cancel SNAP and let churches and families take care of the needy. My guess is that dead people wouldn’t be collecting benefits**
They would appreciate it more. Under SNAP they don’t have to say thank you.
As for voting the red states may be starting to do just that by cleaning up the voting rolls. Blue states won’t cooperate but Trump can withhold funding in other areas.
Charity used to be something for which people were ashamed and embarrassed to receive.
It is financed by government thugs stealing money from hardworking American families. What else could it be than a four letter word? 42 million SNAPPERS is a lot and most of them are huge, obese eating machines.
Multiple generations growing up on the SNAP plantation have changed that view of it, unfortunately.
SNAP is baked into their profits and business plan.
4 letter acronym D.O.G.E. looking into 5 letter words WASTE-FRAUD-ABUSE.
As for voting, I’d be happy enough if there were a nationwide law requiring ID to vote.
Oh, and restrict mail-in voting to those who really need it. To folks who cannot leave home for medical reasons, for example.
I know I’m dreaming here. Democrats like voting just the way it is - wide open to fraud. And Republicans are too meek to do anything about it.
“Give them a fish and feed them for a day.
Teach them to fish, and they can feed themselves for a lifetime.” (Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie)
Build a man a fire, and he stays warm for a day.
Set a man on fire, and he stays warm for the rest of his life.
-Terry Pratchett
Obama expanded SNAP eligibility to the point where middle class people can be on SNAP. It was his devious plot to get the middle class hooked on government benefits. Republicans never cut it back. Now we have a corrupt program that is adding to the deficit and Republicans are scared to cut it back to the truly needy. Not only should people have to reapply. Eligibility should be cut back to the disabled and elderly. The poor who are on it should be eligible on a temporary basis if they are not disabled or elderly.
SNAP as a federal program is a taxpayer subsidy for Big Retail and a vote buying scam for Deep State.
And not just in terms of the recipients.
The SNAP program employs around 8,000 public sector workers.
Axe the federal program.
Leave this to the states.
If they want to do it, they can pay for it.
Years ago, we stopped issuing Food Stamps and started issuing SNAP cards. Arguments were made that Food Stamps stigmatized those using them because it was obvious that the recipients were on welfare. SNAP cards looked like credit cards so it was less obvious. Also, SNAP cards would not decrease the self-esteem of those using them.
Lets go back to Food Stamps. Welfare should be stigmatized.
The best way to increase self-esteem is to be self-sufficient.
“Charity used to be something for which people were ashamed and embarrassed to receive.”
Toxic Charity is: Toxic charity is defined as well-intentioned charitable acts that end up harming the people they are meant to help, often by fostering dependency instead of empowerment and failing to address underlying systemic issues.
SNAP recipients should have to REAPPLY EVERY MONTH for benefits.
It is a Federal Program, administered by the states.
Food stamps were sold to the public as a temporary “helping hand” but have become a way of life for millions of recipients. The programn is now a total joke.
