Stephen King did not hold back, going against James Woods' political post against New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. King has spoken up on politics

Stephen King came to Zohram Mamdani's defense after James Woods sent out a political message.

The horror author replied to the actor on X, formerly known as Twitter, after Woods expressed how people were "easily fooled" by Mamdani's promises to the city of New York. Mamdani recently won the Mayoral election against Andrew Cuomo, an independent candidate and former governor of New York, and republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.

Woods wrote on the platform, "Wait a minute. So this little commie is, of course, promising free stuff to everybody, BUT he’s asking for money from his constituents before he even takes office. It’s just sickening how easily fooled people can be. If schools stopped teaching DEI and 'gender' nonsense, and stuck to history, social studies, and economics, this guy would be panhandling under a bridge."

The IT author quote replied to the post and wrote, "I agree that it's sickening how easily people can be fooled. Look who they elected President!"

Woods was replying to Mamdani's video post, thanking New Yorkers for their vote after making history. Mamdani will be the first Muslim Mayor of New York City.

In the video, the Mayor-elect tells New Yorkers that they could start donating to transition2025.com because the transition will require "staff, research, and an infrastructure that can meet this moment."

Some of the things Mamdani has promised New Yorkers includes lowering the cost of rent, free buses and more.

This is not the first time King has spoken out again Trump.

The Shining author has openly endorsed "No Kings" protests, which Trump supporters have labeled as "Hate America" rallies.

Massive crowds of demonstrators marched and assembled throughout the U.S. on Saturday, October 18, to protest what they perceive as the government's rapid slide toward authoritarianism under Trump. Protesters took to the streets in major cities including New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles.

House Speaker Mike Johnson circulated an article claiming that the demonstrations were being bankrolled by George Soros' foundations and took to X, "It turns out the 'Hate America' Rallies tomorrow are being funded by the billionaire who hates America the MOST. Anyone surprised?"

King fired back at his remarks, writing on X, "They are actually Love America rallies, Mike. Ordinary people, man, trying to save the country from a despot."

Good point.

There’s never been a married man on earth that was a closet pedo.

Have you ever read IT?

So there's no actual, real-world evidence that King is a pedo.

I've not read IT. The only King novel I ever read was Carrie.

But can't think you know an author by his fiction. Fiction might reveal something about an authors' inner fantasies, or not.

In a battle of wits, James Woods vs Stephen King, King would receive the equivalent of a baby seal clubbing.

Woods is epic.

King is a nobody with a loudmouth.

Fiction might reveal something about an authors’ inner fantasies,

..or not..

/

or does.

It was revolting.

That ending added nothing to the story line.

It was not only devoid of all redeeming value, it was in no way entertaining or satisfying .

Fiction is supposed to be enjoyable.

It was like sitting in your favorite restaurant , for hours, only to fed a plate of salmonella.

There was no reason for it.

So I conclude it DOES reflect his inner fantasy.

I could be wrong, but it still marks him as one no decent person would want to associate with, to even think of that ending much less use it.

Up to that point I had read all his prior books, even the ridiculously long unabridged version of The Stand.

But that ending of IT was like living with someone you thought was an okay dude , only to find he had the mind where only a chomo would could relate to .

I think he wrote it to push acceptance and normalization of pedophilia .

Much like academia is doing with all the sick curriculum parents are fighting to get out of our grade schools. And also the lbgbt+P crowd.

Ymmv

You can give him the benefit of the doubt if you wish.

.

Fiction isn’t always meant to be enjoyable. 1984 and Animal Farm are depressing, and meant to be so.

Fiction can intend to shock, discomfort, or educate. Ideally there should be a valid purpose for such. But some less talented authors will shock for its own sake. Perhaps to create controversy and gin up sales or critical acclaim.

Points taken.

But IT crossed the line.

No lessons to be learned from its shock tactic, unlike 1984.

Reminds me of reading class in 9th grade. I read all the books in the schools library ( part of that class was speed reading where I got up to 900 words per minute with 95 percent comprehension and retention )
When I told the teacher she ordered more books. One of the books that was sent to our school was Clockwork Orange. Talk about perversion, damn. I pulled teacher aside and asked her if she really wanted kids reading it and showed her dog eared pages ( dog eating was a no no she was upset at first when she had seen I had done that to this book ) that depicted assault, rape, sodomy.

She turned pale when she read them, she had no idea that crap was in that book. She shit canned it then and there.

My point is that fiction isn’t an excuse to justify writing perversion.
That kind of fiction serves zero higher purpose or provide anything good or enjoyable.

It’s pure trash and needs to be viewed as just that, destructive, corrosive to society in general and the reader in particular.

Jmho.

King went there and like it or not that’s telling and reason to condemn him for trying to normalize pedophilia.

He didn’t write that to expose or warn or condemn it, it had zero redemptive value.

That leads me to conclude he had detrimental reasons to write that ending.

To postulate that good could come from kids having sex.

And that’s exactly what he did with IT.

The kids defeated the threat and saved themselves by having sex among themselves

Sick.
