A nonbinary furry starred in Nike's latest advertising campaign amid a slump in sales at the legendary sportswear brand.
Nike has been beset with poor sales over the past year while competitors like Adidas and Hoka have enjoyed surging profits.
The company's latest campaign, Gaming Division, a collaboration with British designer Martine Rose, is tailored to the video gaming community.
The products launched on October 30 and were modeled by five new gaming-style 'characters' who Nike has described as 'heroes of a modern arena', defined by 'creative energy'.

The self-proclaimed furry, who uses he/they pronouns and identifies as gay and nonbinary, is known to compete in a blue-and-white fox suit with a large Sonic the Hedgehog-style head.

I always thought “non-binary” meant you were born with more than two testicles.
what a brilliant move... IF ya wanna go broke!
Guess not.
That’s the sad truth.

I am on my third pair of Brooks Ghosts.
Most comfortable athletic shoe I have ever worn.
I stopped buying Nike products about ten years ago.
I guess it could also refer to a hitler or Lance Armstrong monoteste condition.
“Nike has been beset with poor sales over the past year”
And they think this is going to HELP? People in Marketing of large corporations do not live in our world. They definitely do not know how to read the room.
I’ve always liked Saucony sneakers. Won a pair back in the 80’s when I competed in an athletic event and I always liked them.
Back when I could run, I liked New Balance best, though I had some good Adidas too. Nike or Brooks, forget it, both those brands nearly crippled me. Now, for walking, I just get cheap hiking boots (Hi-Tec or Timberland) and wear them out fast.
Reebok’s fall came from a milder version of the same idea “Reebok lets you be you”. It was called out immediately as an athletic shoe marketed to non-athletes. Lots of people drink gatorade who don’t work out, but Gatorade NEVER pushes it as such, Kook-Aid for grown-ups.
hay you ever tried Red Wing ?
You are either binary or non-binary. It’s binary.
Remember too that Nike is just outside super-woke Portland. large group dynamics + status seeking + ingrained company culture + woke politics = intense groupthink.
I had a classmate who went to work for Nike. Very traditional girl. Not political at all. Have seen her posts lately (20+ years later) and she's an insane libtard Karen.
They survived the one day $28 billion loss from Kapernick. You just can’t teach stupid.
We still have our Rush Limbaugh Stand Up For Betsy Ross shirts. When Colon Krapernik protested the Betsy Ross flag on the Nike shoes, Nike, of course, caved. In a matter of weeks, Rush raised millions for the Tunnel To Towers organization.
Instead of Just Do It, perhaps it would be simpler and more appropriate to use:

I have three pairs of New Balance 928. Not cheap, but they last forever. Have the Black, brownish, and white. Have had them for over 10 years. Don’t wear them often, but they are very comfortable. Love the torsion bar under the heel, which makes them very stable; a very big help for an 72 year old.
