Fast forward to yesterday (Nov 7) the Turkish government issued “genocide” arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Israeli officials. Oh the irony.
Israel should respond by recognizing the Armenian Genocide and building a museum in Jerusalem to remember victims.
Stinking Turk dogsqueeze...
We need to build that museum in Istanbul.
Everything else is just window dressing.
What’s there to know? It happened.
The truth will set you free.
And revert the name back to Constantinople...
More faux-Christian leftwing drumbeating, directed at faux-Christian skinheads who also hate the Jews.
I think we’ve hesitated to talk about the Armenian (and Assyrian) genocide because during the Cold War we were concerned about offending the Turks. But those days are over. At one time the Turks were one of the few Muslim countries to be on good terms with Israel, which may account for any hesitance on their part. But again, those days are over.
It was a terrible slaughter for which the Turks have never been willing to recognize and too many people have been afraid to hold them to account. And sadly we have to recognize that genocide is not an aberration but a continuing feature of Islam. It continues to happen in the here and now right in front of our eyes.
From the article:
It is worth noting that the 2020 Second Nagorno-Karabakh War (September 27 to November 10), and the 2023 Azerbaijani offensive on Nagorno-Karabakh (September 19 to 20) — which led to Azerbaijan’s control of the entire region (the Republic of Artsakh) and other territories of the Republic of Armenia — and the perpetration of genocide against its Armenian population, occurred during Netanyahu’s tenure as Prime Minister. Further, Israel provided full military and political support to Azerbaijan, a fact that Armenians will never forget.
Mainly because it may tie back to the Turk national hero - Ataturk. Who incidently was an atheist, completely unsympathetic with Islam*. He did make an interesting statement regarding Christianity. Paraphrasiing quote - he wishes his people were Christian They would be easier to govern.
* The Turks have a hard time squaring that circle now considering they have an Islamist government.

Ironically, Hitler wished Germany was Muslim, since in his mind it was a better religion for soldiers.
Yeah, how about that.
It's not surprising at all that Israel had stronger ties with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan had been targeted by Iran, Iran also targeted Israel for decades and continues to. Iran tried to take away Caspian Sea gas fields from Azerbaijan, and needed arms. Azerbaijan held onto the fields, and the money that came in from those helped them build up their armed forces. Armenia's economy continued to decline during the same interval.
Turkey (ethnically tied to Azerbaijan) considers Armenia as an enemy.
By contrast, Armenia was supported by Iran because Iran's pretty much an enemy of everyone apart from their longtime sponsors, Russia and China.
Iran didn't do anything much to help Armenia, because all its resources were being directed into the annihilation of Israel.
The author of the smear piece is clearly just allied with Iran.
Basically Jew haters use any excuse to hate on Israel and Bibi in particular.
After the election of Pashinyan (our favored candidate, ahem) who, given that the “problem” of Nagorno-Karabakh was an obstacle on the pathway to NATO membership, decided to leave its inhabitants to their ugly fate. Problem solved and map tidied up.
The lib press crowed about Russia not coming to the aid of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, but the Russian attitude at the time was basically “if you aren’t willing to help your own people, why should we?”
While they pay lip service, Israel is no real friend of Christians.
Democide is democide, regardless of the perpetrator or victim.
From the article: “The fourth, and most important, reason is that Israel seeks to monopolize the genocide (or what is known as the Holocaust) of the European Jewish people at the hands of Nazi Germany and its allies during World War II.”
I find this plausible.
There was discussion on FreeRepublic that mentioned the Holocaust. I mentioned the Holodomor and was lectured that there was no comparison. 6 million Jews were murdered. 7 million Christians were murdered. No comparison because ...
I understand Jews stressing the Holocaust, much as I understand a few Irish Americans harping on the Irish potato famine. It’s easy to be narrow of thought. In the case of Jews, I think it goes further. They cling to their identity in part by remembering the Holocaust.
The Israeli PM recognizes the Armenian gcide and someone writes an article bitching that he didn’t do it with the “correct” expression on his face?
There’s no problem between Armenia and Israel, they recognize each other and have good relations.
The article writer needs to back off his typewriter and look in his mirror
“they are trying to tax the Armenian churches out of Jerusalem”
Are taxes different between churches, Synagogues, and Mosques?
I believe this property tax is particularly targeted at Christian churches. These churches were exempt from property tax at least through Ottoman (from 1517-1917) and British Mandate rule (1917-1948). There is no excuse for this. It is a straight-up persecution of Christians.
