Because those times are forgotten in the history books. Gen Z voters are selfish and stupid.

Because many of the voters were not alive or did not live in NYC during that time period.

I think this is why the “youth” vote (under 29) was more tilted towards Mamdani.

They were not even gleams in their parents’ eyes at the time in question. Nor were their parents likely even citizens of this country (if they are, even now).

Why do New York City voters...?

How do we know they were voters? I think we can more definitively say that they were ballots. Voters is a big leap.

Am I the only one hoping for the complete collapse of NYC? They insist on being a toilet LET them stew in it.

“Why do New York City voters want to repeat this disaster from the 1960s and 1970s?”

the voters are ignorant and/or stupid.

Mamdani and his ilk want to wreak havoc since they want to eliminate capitalism. When it fails they will still blame the capitalists.

There is a new Son of Sam out there just waiting to start doing his thing. But this time it will be cool because he’s probably a Muslim. All you women who are not wearing hijab — it’s you’re own fault!

Free stuff loving communists and socialists. I sure hope that Hegseth and the boys continue wiping out the Venezuelan drug runs bringing drugs to the far-left scum of the world infesting the U.S. Screw the DemonRAT politicians if they aren’t getting a kick back from their cartel butt butties.

Most of them who voted for Mamdani don’t remember those times.

NYC voters are a real-world example of the proof of an oft-quoted definition of insanity. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
So goes NYC...again...and again...ad infinitum.

Why do New York City voters want to repeat this disaster from the 1960s and 1970s?

Most of those voters are gone.

Their replacements, immigrants from around the world, and hipster freaks from around the country have no idea what happened in the 60's and 70's.

We have visited South Bronx like 1980.
There were no standing houses except for some projects.
The city looked like WWII remnant, just full of skeletons of burned houses! It seemed to me from these skeletons, that those houses had been once pretty good!
I heard rumors, that the houses were mostly torched by the owners, so they could at least collect the insurance money?!
