As experience has taught me, Notre Dame will always get the benefit of the doubt and so it is as they are ranked 10 despite their only quality win is over USC. A Group of 5 team is guaranteed a playoff spot but no Group of 5 team made it into the top 25 ranking.
Notre Dame is the most hyped and overrated football team EVER.
Unfortunately, they usually get crushed by one of the College Football Aristocrats in the Play Offs - or sooner.
Texas fought their way back up the rankings after two losses, but they close out the season with #5 Georgia and #3 Texas A&M.
My team - University of Florida - might have had the most daunting schedule in 2025. They will play seven ranked teams, then close out the season against arch-rival, and un-ranked, Florida State.
They are America's College Football Team.
They usually do get crushed, but Indiana feels like the real deal to me this year. They felt that way to me early in the year, and so far they haven't slacked off or disappointed, at all. Even their ranked opponent games were solid wins.
I'm probably 100% wrong, but we may finally have a spoiler team this year.
In 2025 - not that bad.
They lost by 3 points, first game of the year, at then #10 Miami.
They lost their second game by 1 point against now #3 Texas AM.
They beat #19 USC by 10 points.
They play #24 Pitt in ten days.
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Texas
in the top 12 - old Southwest Conference
Is Knute Rockne still their coach?
Maybe Kaylor Swigvf is their mascot
I miss the old Southwest Conference
I’m a (non-insane) Ohio State fan, and Indiana is very good this year. Not a mirage team.
I miss playing Rice and giving them the chant.
On Notre Dame - “They are America’s College Football Team.”
That is absolute BS. Alabama is the most watched CFB team and they are not America’s College Football Team either. In fact, no one is.
Ole Miss is looking great.
Yep. I’m an Aggie. I grew up in Dallas. I could go home to see TCU and SMU games. My older brother lived in Houston, so it was easy to see Rice games. And the Austin was close to A&M
You also always knew other students who you grew up with at those schools.
No team that loses to Florida should be eligible for the playoffs.
They probably have a lot of fans in New Orleans which has a large Catholic population as well as a lot of Irish-Americans.
Could the hymnodist Julia Johnston of Peoria, Ill. been a 'Bama fan?
"Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look, there is flowing a Crimson Tide
Whiter than snow may you be today."
--from Grace Greater Than Our Sin by julia Johnston & Daniel Towner, 1911
