Nick Fuentes, the highly controversial white nationalist roiling the MAGA movement, took a victory lap over Vice President JD Vance, following his interview with Tucker Carlson last week.
Fuentes has long been a fierce critic of Vance and has made deeply racist comments in the past about Vance’s interracial and mixed-faith marriage. Carlson’s platforming of Fuentes on his show has led to an escalating battle on the right as many argue that such blatant hate speech should remain outside the realm of mainstream MAGA, whereas Carlson has let it in.
“He’s getting squeezed because the Groypers are on the one hand saying, ‘Hey, listen, fat boy, we want America first. You want to run for president? We want to hear you say America first.’ And on the other side, he’s got his donors, and they’re saying, ‘They’re horrible anti-Semites. You have to disavow them. You have to forcefully condemn them. Condemn Tucker. Condemn the Groypers,’” Fuentes began, referring to his followers, who are widely known as “Groypers.”

Fuentes’s rising influence on the right has been on vivid display in recent months as he’s joined prominent podcasts and is reaching an ever-growing audience. Following his appearance on Carlson’s show, many of Fuentes’ shocking past statements, ranging from Holocaust denial to sexual violence to his insults of Vance, have gone viral yet again, highlighting why he has long been relegated to the fringe of the right.

I am not going to generate a laundry list of thousands of statements he has made over the years and whether I agree or disagree with them. I am a nobody old timer—so bottom line it does not matter what I think about those.
But also you:
He is brilliant and articulate and a leader for many young male conservative activists.
So despite being a "nobody old timer" and saying "it does not matter" what you think, you have no problem praising him as "brilliant and articulate."
Openly praising him whole refusing to criticize him puts you squarely on his side. Just admit it.
I have great respect for the young man.
That does not bind me to every one of his thousands of statements over the years.
(Btw that is exactly my view on President Trump—except the “young” part. :-) )
Oh, but doesn't he make those comments so "brilliantly and articulately"? Don't we "have a lot to learn" from someone like this? Isn't it "name calling" to criticize someone who makes comments like that? And shouldn't we be glad he's getting a larger platform to spew his bigotry and vulgarity? I mean, what if he has a high IQ? What if his IQ is higher than yours...doesn't that negate his bigotry and lies?
The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.

The above Fuentes statement is not a one-off. It's hits several core tenants of his beliefs.
I'm skeptical that it will draw large numbers of followers. I mean, it may at Stormfront, but I don't believe it will resonate well with America at large.
We shall see.
I think he stated there is an “occult element at the high levels of society, and specifically among the Jews,” and that “when we take power, they need to be given the death penalty”.
These days we do not need to speculate about numbers.
I do not know how to do it—but some folks who know more about this stuff could figure out his number of followers on various platforms.
I do not even know what platforms (other than Rumble) he is on.
Tiktok? Facebook? Don’t know.
Supposedly we are talking millions...but others can verify or falsify.

I pay just as much attention to those who open the doors as those who walk through them.

Fuentes is the arm of the right that is designated to draw in all the young Jew hating Democrats that dominate the Democrat party for those under 35.
In our fractured society young males are much more likely to be Republicans.
The Democrats you speak of are young women—no way they could be drawn to be Republicans any time soon (unless they start to like the idea of getting married to men, staying in the kitchen and having babies—lol).

I’ve heard of him but that’s about it. Never watched his pod cast or read anything he has to say.

Deflecting to a third party in a question of right and wrong is a cheap evasion. Before “taking concerns up” with young punks, you’d better decide where you yourself stand.
Is Fuentes a lying bigot or not?
The young man has been “on the air” for ten years or so—said hundreds of thousands of words on an almost infinite number of topics.
Has he ever made “bigoted” statements? Sure
Has he ever lied? Sure
He is human.
I would flunk that test as well.
