An online influencer has sparked a firestorm debate after calling for the government to feed “prison loaf” to poor people instead of giving them SNAP benefits to buy food.
Diane Yap is going viral for suggesting that free nutraloaf — an unappetizing but nutritionally balanced mix of protein, carbs, fruits and vegetables mashed together — is the best solution to keep poor Americans from going hungry.
“The point of EBT is to ensure people don’t starve to death. That’s it. Even if we agree that’s a worthwhile goal, it can be achieved with Nutraloaf,” wrote Diane Yap, founder of the Friends of Lowell Foundation, a nonprofit formed to defend academic merit-based admissions at a top-ranked San Francisco high school.
Her viral post inspired howls of outrage from lefties online — who called her heartless.
‘We should treat the poor like we treat misbehaving prisoners,’ is def a take I expect from u,” one X user wrote.
“They can opt out at any time by simply paying for their own food,” Yap responded.
“You’re a horrible person,” wrote a second person.

You both forgot the ubiquitous tattoos.
If you show up to get your EBT card without at least one tattoo you are going to laughed out of the parking lot.

Some of us have eaten worse looking food. That prison loaf looks a lot like shepherd’s pie.
Commodity programs are just another form of welfare and allow the government to engage in corrupt practices without having to share the corruption with the little people.
Its no better.
The banks dont want local farms and politicians are payed to make sure farms are almost forced into being enslaved to banks or become a employee to some megacorp like Tyson.
Damn right the vast majority of these obese free loaders depend on the workers feeding them. Time for a big cut back.
Mayuube there is some logic to giving people on food stamps pre-made food like “prison loaf” but saying it now really isn’t helpful. The Dems are committing suicide with the shut down. This allows liberals to refocus on evil, heartless conservatives. And for the record, I don’t think the poor should be fed prison loaf. The truly needy American citizens should get food stamps to buy certain categories of food at the supermarket with the obligation to try to get a job if they are able-bodied.

I agree. And all their neighbors should judge them for their lack of productivity towards the advancement of humanity.
If they are truly incapable of productivity, kind souls will take notice and help. If they are just lazy, everyone should frown, walk on the other side of the street and generally scoff at them.

I get that some people really needed them. But the old food stamp program had built-in shame. And that was not a bad thing. In the store check-out line you had to get out your food-stamp book, and tear out the required stamps.
Everyone nearby could tell that you were on welfare.
But these modern EBT cards look just like credit cards. No one can tell.

I recall some of the customs.
I gave food, once, to a bum. He threw the whole tray in to the garbage. They can starve.
Hair nails and lashes are expensive.
Growing up I remember a friend, who was in a really poor family, got food benefits in the form of huge blocks of cheese, butter, peanut butter, cans of grain they had to hand mill, and real stamps which they could use for vegetables and other staples at the grocery store. His mom made some great meals.
Now. I see the fat hogs with carts full of junk food and they whip out their EBT card and eat better taphan I ever had. All they should get is prison loaf. I am sick of seeing the “poor” have everything handed to them.

Better yet - go back to the old system of handing oUt a mix of staple foods once a month to the professional shirkers, loafers and parasites.
If the government says that taxpayers have to keep them alive this is the way to do it.
Kill the EBT handouts and provide government cheese, canned mystery meat, rice, beans, peanut butter, powdered milk etc.
By what perverted logic should EBT people be eating better than the working taxpayers paying for their EBT purchases?
If they want a better variety they always have the option of WORKING at a job!
