Daylight Saving Time Has a Devastating Consequence That No One Is Talking About
Slate ^ | 10/31/25 | Mark Joseph Stern

Every fall, Americans are plunged into darkness an hour earlier when the clocks turn back at the end of daylight saving time. Many see the beginning of standard time as a mild annoyance. Sun lovers view it as the unfortunate start to a season of afternoon sunsets. Parents, as I can now attest, experience it as sleep-wrecking proof that the human construct of time is no match for the anarchy of toddlerdom. They aren’t worth the effort to redo maps, charts, tables, indexes, navigation software, and procedures. You might find it interesting to read about using a sextant.

I thought Rubio passed when he was in the senate.

But the goobermint will never get rid of it. They want everyone to know they control every aspect of life, even time.

There is indeed excessive light refraction at some viewing angles. But, that isn’t the most difficult part of using a sextant.

It is depressing. I agree.

I love the sun. Unfortunately the days get short until December 21st.

:(

Unfortunately the days get short until December 21st.

Matthew 24:22
“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.”

I’ve never liked the changing times that come with DST. It interferes with just getting in to a routine. Morning larks love it, because mornings are always sunny, but I prefer just letting the longer and shorter daylight seasons stay as they are. Sunlight waxes and wanes. We don’t have to worship the sun like the ancients, but we need not alter our clocks because of it.
