MTV reportedly pulled the plug on their hit show “Ridiculousness” after fourteen years on air.
Sources familiar told TMZ that the move to cut one of the longest-running series in the network’s history was conveyed to the cast and crew this week. Rob Dyrdek, Steelo Brim and their associates were told this season will be the final one, according to the outlet. The network’s executives reportedly made the shocking announcement directly.
“Ridiculousness” paused production in July and was slated to return in January. Already produced first-run episodes will still be broadcasted by MTV through 2026, but the network will not be producing any additional original episodes, sources told TMZ.
Previous seasons will still be broadcasted by MTV and select seasons will reportedly continue to stream via Paramount+.
News of the cancelation marks the end of an era. Dyrdek, Brim and Chanel West Coast kicked off the show in 2011 and it swiftly became a network staple. Chanel West Coast departed in 2023 and was replaced by Lauren “Lolo” Wood in 2024.
“Ridiculousness” ran for 46 seasons throughout its time on the air, according to Us Weekly..
The show featured viral internet videos collected and presented by genre and shown to fans alongside celebrity guest reactions. The move swiftly follows the Paramount Skydance merger, which has led to thousands of layoffs across the firm, TMZ reported.
The show’s hosts have not issued any public comments about the abrupt cancelation of the show.

For those that don't know, it is quite similar to "America's Funniest Home Videos", only no prizes......
Well, most sitcoms only run 10 years or so, so I guess 14 isn’t bad.
Maybe MTV heard Dyrdek and the black guy drop one too many “GD” bombs.
I haven’t watched MTV in decades....
I don’t go out of my way to watch it, I just like this particular show when nothing else interests me on TV cable.............
I used to like MTV back in the 90’s when they played music.
They have MTV Classic that plays only music videos. It’s the least watched cable television channel.
“It’s the least watched cable television channel” If all they are doing is playing Taylor Swift, I can understand why.
There’s no Music on Music Television.
There’s no History on The History Channel.
There’s no Discovery on the Discovery Channel.
There’s no News on The Headline News channel................
So true.
There needs to be a thumbs up button on this site.
+1 to you
😁...................

I guess I’m not one of the cool kids. I’ve never heard of it. I guess that makes me a square.
It’s a kind of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” hosted by an aging Skateboard athlete that still dresses like he’s a teenager...............
I haven’t washed it since they stopped doing what their purpose was.
Time for David Ellison to sell off MTV Networks.
MTV is shutting down: MTV will be permanently closing its remaining music channels by the end of 2025.
That dude is worth about 30 to 40 million dollars. Apparently, he has invested in real estate for quite a while.
I am thinking he might spin off or consolidate some networks if he gets ahold of Warner Bros. Discovery.
