The Asian “Whales”, now go to Macau.
They are all rip-offs, just in varying degrees. The places off-strip not so much, at least they don’t reach into your pockets
“Bring back the mob.”
Oddly I agree. The mobs model was gambling period. Hotels and food were close to cost. They wanted to bring people in to gamble, drink and see the shows. It worked. When legitimate business took over Las Vegas, they ruined it.
I am not a gambler with the exception of a little low stakes blackjack. My wife loved the slots and sometimes won. We could go to Vegas and have a good time at a reasonable cost. That Vegas is no more. I do not go to Vegas anymore.
Funny story about Vegas Slots. My wife from Mexico who speaks perfect English hit a 1000 dollar plus pay off. That was in the day before the totally electronic machines. The machine did not have enough coins in it to pay off the total. She came running to my blackjack table and said, “La penche machina no mi paga!” (The F-—ing machine did not pay me) I laughed and said go back to the machine and an employee will come by and pay you. I miss the old Las Vegas.
Huh?!

I wish they’d open casinos in south Florida. Casinos on the main land and resorts on the beaches.
It’s the Disney model, an exorbitant fee for everything.
They throw a live hen through the door as they walk by.
Oh, boo-******-hoo. If they can't afford it, that shouldn't go. Same here:
These reported exhorbitant charges cause me to conclude that these operators of these Vegas casinos must think they’re running a hospital.
The Mafia ran a clean town......................
Went there often-never gambled. A show and a 3 night stay at the Hooters Hotel. $33 a night. Now it’s the Oya with the Hooters restaurant. Hotel price way up. Now it’s 3 nights at the Motel 6 next door and hang out at Oya’s bar. Last it was $10 for an ice bucket of 5 Bud Lights. The Hooters is now closed and the strip is seedy as I remember.
I went to Vegas as a young Marine from 29 Palms MCB back in 1973. Had relatives there, so didn’t need to stay in hotels.
Rode my motorcycle all over. Went in a few casinos, was 19 and underage but having a short haircut nobody said anything.
Didn’t have much money, being an E1, but there were Nickle slots.
It was a really clean town back then.....................
Yes. The gamblers overall lose money. It is just that recently the casino/hotels have made less money. They aren’t “losing” anything.
Steve Wynn said it best years ago...if you want to make money own a casino.
"MGM casino head admits company lost its way with summer prices and regrets ‘infamous’ $26 bottle of water
Las Vegas tourism fell sharply this summer, with visitors down 11 percent in June and 6.7 percent in August year-over-year"

Not to mention Nashvegas.
I fly people to various destinations ... I consider myself a “Uber pilot” ... I use the term ‘uber’ when describing what I do. See my profile page.
Yep. Since the Democrats took over from the mob, they are screwing the public as they always do...
