Who can forget the Nikki Minaj classic: You a Stupid Hoe
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe
You a stupid hoe, yeah, you a, you a stupid hoe
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe (Stupid, stupid)
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe (You stupid, stupid)
You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe (You stupid, stupid)
You a stupid hoe (You stupid, stupid), yeah, you a, you a stupid hoe (You stupid, stupid)
It was written by Barry Gibbs, member of the Australian group The Bee Gees.
Interesting. Hadn’t heard that one.
What will ghetto youth be aspiring to now when they commit crimes?
I think Greg Allman said it first.
He’s even better now.
Too bad his dad isn’t around to see how well he’s done.

They were pretty good too...
Do you know what season and episode he was on?
My wife really likes to program and she would find it fun
Rap isn’t music.
The gap has been widened by Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl," which has kept all 12 of its songs in the top 40 for three weeks.
What happens when 39 of the top 40 are by Taylor Swift?
Finally some good news on the music front although Taylor Swift is bad enough.
(Hot Rod Lincoln”, by Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen, from 1971. The guitar riff draws you in and keeps you there.)
I’ve been playing guitar over 47 years and that guitar riff is one that I play regularly to keep my chops up. It’s challenging to play it correctly.
I hated (c)rap from the first moment I heard it in the mid 1980s when I was in high school. I’ve been waiting for it to go the way of break dancing ever since.
(c)rap is bad rhymes I would have been embarrassed to come up with when I was in 3rd grade with a jackhammer in the background. Its not music. Its just noise.
“I hated (c)rap from the first moment I heard it”
Ditto! Cheap and annoying “music”.
Drop the fake “twang” and I would be all in for country music. Take the Eagles, which is country rock without that silly “twang “ voice, they were good despite what Bridges said in that stupid movie.
“Rappers Delight” by Sugar Hill Gang should have been the first and LAST rap song.
The Eagles used to be my favorite group. Then I heard so many horrible things about Don Henley that I became disillusioned. Maybe they’re still my favorite, but with a shadow over them.
What did Henley do that was so bad?
As I actually hear the lyrics, reflect on the context and absorb the meaning of many songs, my taste in music has changed. Have become ashamed of myself that I used to enjoy some songs, which glorify infidelity and other sins.
Don’t care to sing along with evil notions and pollute my very soul.
Then again, I’m getting older.
