The dream of a better life in the US has ended for Harjinder Singh of Jagoli village in Ambala, who was deported on Sunday after being caught for illegal stay.
Harjinder, who went to the US in 2021, said he had dreamt of working hard and earning well for his family’s future. But his hopes were crushed when US authorities deported him under the Trump administration’s policy of removing illegal immigrants.
“They should have deported us with dignity instead of sending us in chains. We remained in chains for nearly 25 hours. There is swelling in my legs and other body parts are also in pain. They shouldn’t have treated us like this,” said an emotional Harjinder, narrating his ordeal.
He recalled that he had learnt cooking after reaching the US and was employed in Jacksonville, Florida.
“It was a good country and I was earning well, but the Trump administration caught me and deported me to India. Many other Indians have also been sent back. They have crushed our dreams,” he lamented.

Interesting....the local media here hasn’t said onecword about this as far as I know.
The indignation and lack of personal responsibility is unbelievable.
Kinda hard to have empathy for someone with that attitude.
Apparently these Indians paid enormous sums of money to smugglers to get brought here, in the dead of night and dumped in the wilderness.
They should have used their money to get visas and plane tickets..............
From another thread........
++++++++++++
“59% of ALL illegal aliens are collecting food stamps, meaning that most of the people getting food stamps from the U.S. Government and the U.S. Taxpayer are not even Americans.”
“Think about that.”
“And we didn’t know about any of this before the government shutdown started.”
Boo freaking hoo.
Bkmk
In case you hadn’t heard, Harjinder, there’s a new administration in place which believes in actually enforcing the law. Tell your buddies not even to try to sneak in. For your life’s work, make Jagoli village in Ambala a better place to live.
Well said.

Hey, Harjinder, Why not stay in your own country and do such?
Get out of my country, invader!
As of September 1, 2025, India's new Immigration and Foreigners Act imposes stricter penalties for immigration violations. The punishment for being in India illegally depends on the specific offense, such as illegal entry, overstaying a visa, or using forged documents.
Penalties for illegal entry:
If a foreigner enters India without a valid passport or visa, the penalties include:
Imprisonment for up to five years.
A fine of up to ₹5 lakh.
The possibility of both a jail sentence and a fine.
Penalties for other offenses
Visa overstay or violation:
Foreigners who overstay their visa or violate its conditions can face up to three years in jail and a fine of up to ₹3 lakh.
"300,000 Indian Rupee equals 3,400.80 USD"
(1 Indian Rupee equals 0.011 USD.)
Using forged documents: The most severe penalties apply to those who use or supply forged travel documents.
This can result in:
Imprisonment of two to seven years.
Fines ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh.
Additional consequences:
Beyond the criminal penalties, individuals found to be in India illegally face other serious consequences:
Detention: Illegal immigrants can be placed in detention
centers while awaiting deportation.
Deportation: The central government has the authority to
order the removal of any foreigner who has violated the law.
Exclusion from citizenship: Illegal immigrants are not eligible for
Indian citizenship through naturalization or registration.
Increased scrutiny: As part of the new law, institutions like
hospitals, hotels, and universities must report the presence of
foreign nationals, which increases the risk of being identified.
DEPORTED WITH DIGNITY???
IMO-—HE IS LUCKY TO STILL BE ALIVE
