I want to ask my Christian friends a question:
Just say you are attending a big Republican Christian conference with well-known people speaking in a major US City. The week before the event, you get an email telling you that when you are not actually in the event, you should not wear your credentials in the hotel or outside for security reasons. What would be your response?
You are correct. It is much worse.
All over Islamic monies attacking jews. On Broadway there is a play attacking the memory of annn frank.
That isn’t something seen in 100 years here.
Equivalent to piss christ.
Me and mine have no place to go. Your milage may vary.
For your own personal safety, I would follow the recommendation. It’s about safety and security. There are crazy people everywhere.
That is how I see it as well. I would simply view it as advice and follow it or don't follow it as you see fit.
I’d do it, but I don’t need to be told. Back in the day, I attended a lot of conferences on a lot of different topics, and I was told by my employer’s security folks to never, ever, under any circumstances, wear anything identifying me as an attendee of anything. There’s a lot of sick people out there looking for an excuse; don’t give them one.
I agree with those who suggest you should oblige them with this security request. It is actually a common practice with security. I used to go cover drive within the same company when they needed drivers from out of town because of a strike. They had union drivers and non-union drivers. So they would call in non-union employees to keep things rolling. But the first thing they told us was to never wear our uniforms out in public. Always change into street clothes before going out after work. The reason? It was for our own safety, and it was serious. If any union drivers on strike caught us in uniform out in public they absolutely would mess us up bad or worse. It is just a standard security protocol in some situations.
By the way good to see you drop in. I was thinking about you a couple days ago and wondering how you were getting along down there. :)
Totally agree. Antifa probably looking for you. It’s never been safe to be a Trump supporter.
It is Sin City, lot of Criminal Liberals there who would spit in your food or worse if you were advertising your faith. Street Preachers are beat up there everyday. So it truly is for your own safety.
“I guess I’d have to understand what are the “security reasons”.
“Republican Christian conference” in Sin City... The Badge will reflect this fact.
Wear you Christian credentials outside and inside the conference just to spite the the anti-Christians. Be not afraid. The enemy is small and there are 4-5 billions of us. On we go!
Sorry, but the question ignores reality. It’s like asking what one should wear to tea with the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Queen is dead and the Archbishop of Canterbury could be a pagan. We don’t live in that kind of world anymore.
Big cities are not safe for large gatherings of any kind now, much less conservative gatherings.
Remember, John Adams said the Constitution is intended for a moral and religious people, and is unfit for any other. The Constitution is not outdated, but society is made up of too many anti-moral and anti-religious individuals. We need to work to change that. But in the meanwhile, we need to govern our behavior according to where we are today.
If the state in question has concealed carry reciprocity with Arkansas I would go and say “Make my day.”
Follow the advice.
If someone wanted to stalk you, they would have your name and hotel.
Nothing made the pushy migrants hawking crap in Italy back off faster than my husband barking at them in Italian. They may have pegged me as not a local, but not only does my husband sound Italian, he is Italian by heritage and looks it.
One even went, “Oh! Italiano,” and backed away.
Why do they target travelers? You are far less likely to make the trip back for their court case and they escape prosecution. Same here in the US.
Also, if you lose your badge or misplace it, someone else can gain access to the event under your name.
When I worked for DoD they did not want us wearing our badges in public. Presumably the Soviets (or other hostile nations) might try to copy them.
Antifa might try to copy the credential and gain access to the convention center.
All of man’s credentials are vanity, dust, a puff of wind that is gone in a second.
Only God’s credentials matter - and they are invisible, but reality: the presence and power of the Holy Spirit inside a man who walks with God, and not before men.
All of man’s systems are vanity. The ones with the name Christian are the most vain of all.
I am a Christian. When the shit hits the fan, I will stand with you.
I wouldn't go, I try to avoid Blue cities as you are a target if you identify as anything other than a leftist kook. and if I am there, I keep my head down, the cities are dangerous.
Sounds smart; I’d comply. Unless I had terminal cancer or something and then maybe not.
