Influencer Emman Atienza opened up about taking a social media break before her death at age 19.

On Oct. 23, several of Atienza's family members first shared the news of the content creator’s death, writing, “It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman.”

The internet personality — who had over 900,000 followers on TikTok and 240,000 on Instagram — died by suicide at her home in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed to PEOPLE.

Sad, only 19. TikTok and Instagram, there will probably be more.

She was in my guess an atheist.

Sadly, a young woman searching for meaning and validation via the totally impersonal internet.

Adolescense is very tough. The internet has made it a thousand times tougher.

PS I despise the term “influencer”.

the articles about her make it clear she had major mental health issues. Because she made herself semi-well known people are talking more about her than others with similar issues.

Yep. “Influencer” means nothing. Taking advice from a 19 year old on Tik Tok or anywhere else, really? She knew nothing.

Modern American life is not an improvement on how life used to be. It is a big step down, especially for the young. They are WAY worse off than how I had it in the 1960s and 1970s.

Social media plain sucks as well.

The Left has just completely ruined modern life for the young today. What a toxic culture they have had shoved down their throats.

I don’t understand why they call them influencers. Why would I let some stranger on the Internet influence me?

She knew nothing

And her “followers” were orders of magnitude dumber and more ignorant.

I don’t know about you, but I always seek the advice of a 19 yo on my life decisions < /sarcasm>

I’ll go a step further. Influencers are no-nothings, and do-nothings. BUT, they are a personality.

The pressures are on for these these kids....too bad, but it sounds like it was inevitable with her and so many who seek comfort and recognition on “the net” and who have mental disease.

Kind of a poor example you chose. Vietnam Vets. No chronic PTSD, drug addiction or suicide in that group!
