When Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced that ChatGPT would begin allowing “erotica for verified adults” starting December 2025, the world crossed a moral line that should never have been approached. His defense — “We are not the elected moral police of the world” — was meant to sound neutral and enlightened. But in reality, it was the digital equivalent of Pontius Pilate washing his hands.
This plan is being sold as a matter of “adult freedom,” but make no mistake: this is about normalizing sin, monetizing lust, and expanding the reach of evil under the guise of technology. What began as a tool for knowledge and creativity now risks becoming a factory for temptation — and the spiritual consequences could be catastrophic.
Let’s look at five ways this new direction will be deeply harmful to both society and the soul — and why Christians must see this as a moral emergency.
1. The corruption of intimacy and the slow death of love Artificial intelligence has already blurred the lines between reality and illusion. But AI-generated erotica will go further — offering people simulated lovers, “custom” fantasies, and seductive conversations designed to satisfy fleshly cravings rather than heal the heart.
This is not freedom. It is digital slavery dressed up as personal liberty.

“Sam Altman came across as an autistic sociopath.”
Whoever said this is an idiot.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition involving challenges with social communication, sensory processing, and repetitive behaviors, while sociopathy is a personality disorder marked by exploitative, impulsive, and harmful actions without guilt.
Autistic people generally have intact affective empathy (feeling others’ emotions) but struggle with cognitive empathy (understanding social cues). So autism-related social missteps are unintentional and stem from genuine confusion or overload, not malice.
Sociopaths, in contrast, typically have the REVERSE: strong cognitive empathy (they “read” people to manipulate them) but no affective empathy (they don’t care about the harm caused). Sociopathy involves deliberate exploitation.
In short, they are almost the opposite of each other.
And while co-morbidities can exist and have been speculated about real and fictional people (e.g., Sherlock Holmes), there are few, if any, documented cases.

Exactly. Porn was widely availabl3 way bwfore ai. Its just anohter drop in the ocean of hedonistic degeneracy.
Th3 more alarming result of ai is the abulity to use it for crimes
But before cable TV and the Internet, you had to go out of your way to consume porn, now it’s just a click away.
OK, how about everyone just agrees that Altman is a dick?
I’m most afraid of its use in propaganda.
“When machines start whispering to lonely souls...”
That is the aspect of AI I cannot and will never comprehend. How can a person delude themselves into receiving emotional comfort from digital impulses?
“OK, how about everyone just agrees that Altman is a dick?”
Fully concur.
“How can a person delude themselves into receiving emotional comfort from digital impulses?”
The same way my buddy fell in love with a stripper.
It’s more than “deranged” men..its many men..too many men base all their actions/opinions on some kind of sexual obsession....but they all get to vote don’t they.
I guess it depends on what one means by ‘comfort’. Thinking generally, not necessarily about pornography, I can see people deriving satisfaction of some kinds through interaction with an engaging AI.
(People derive comfort from all sorts of non-human sources, like poetry and other forms of art. Of course, they were created by other humans; but so are AIs.)
yeah it definately contributed to an explosion in degeneracy for sure- and ai will continue expanding the degeneracy- but this is Satan’s realm- so no surprise- porn and degenerate activities have been a problem for thousands of years- the Israelite ran into it all around them-
“The same way my buddy fell in love with a stripper.”
No, a stripper is a warm human.
“I can see people deriving satisfaction of some kinds through interaction with an engaging AI.”
That is my point; can’t see it. I consult Grok on occasion, and an unmoved when it addresses me as a person.
I think it depends on what it’s designed to do and what you’re using it for. Just ‘Consulting Grok’ isn’t much different from using a dictionary or encyclopedia.
The one who started and ignited the AI porn in America is no other than Elon Musk (!) and his Grok AI application. His company advertised it as a multi-faceted tool which includes an 18+ “unhinged” mode. That’s the only reason why ChatGPT is now it trying to catch up. They want to do what Grok does. Business is business…
So… let’s first denounce hypocrisy.
If we want to denounce “18+ AI” we need to denounce those who helped Republicans win, which is Elon. He started it. Are we going to do that? No, I don’t think so.
When it comes to the porn industry, America is the absolute world-leader and remains its greatest supporter and producer – no matter if it’s a Republican or Democrat-led Government - it continues unhindered. Also, many states in America officially support prostitution and whorehouses, America’s sex industry and porn-production and its international distribution is so massive that it has Europe now trying to defend itself against it.
Ai-porn is just an extra branch added to the plethora of porn America is already offering and intensely producing and distributing.
Thus, either America allows porn, or it bans all of it whether it’s based on AI-porn or Human-porn. Plain and simple, we can’t have it both ways and cherry-pick which kind of porn America should produce or not. Technically speaking real “human-porn” and prostitution in America is causing more harm than Virtual porn which involves no real human beings.
France is right now trying to defend itself against the massive influx of AI and non-AI porn coming from America, with though new 18+ ID rules. America responds… saying that the French are too prude…
“How can a person delude themselves into receiving emotional comfort from digital impulses?”
“The same way my buddy fell in love with a stripper.”
“No, a stripper is a warm human.”
Eh, maybe a closer simulation to the real thing, but no less fake than a computer simulating a human. A stripper’s heart is no less cold and calculating that a server. Perhaps more cruel with actual ill-intentions.
“Also, many states in America officially support prostitution and whorehouses”
I assumed you were correct, but I looked it up. Nevada is the only state where it is legal.
CA & NY have decriminalized solicitation for the whore, but not the John and still have pandering (pimps) as a crime.
bkmk a great, insightful reply.
