After California legislators and Gov. Gavin Newsom recently made Diwali a state holiday, Sacramento Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes said local leaders and community members had a request: “Can we please do a resolution at City Council?” Talamantes said. “This is historic, this is huge.”
On Tuesday, she, Mayor Kevin McCarty and Councilmember Mai Vang, will do just that to honor the religious celebration.
“It’s such a big celebration of culture, diversity,” Talamantes said.
The holiday is a major event in India, particularly for followers of Hinduism and Sikhism, and is marked by candle and lamp lighting to symbolize light over darkness and good over evil.

Not my culture. White’s, blacks, browns, and yellows in my area are freakin’ tired of the Indian con of H1B visas stealing their jobs. And then bringing all their families with them and taking even more jobs, somehow - how do they get clearance to get those jobs as well? Then they take over entire towns politically then the school boards. Then they start building their butt ugly temples. Ok, if it was classic European or even Mayan style it would be bearable, but the hindu design ethic just plain sucks. Not to mention all the accidents they’re causing speeding wrecklessly. I’ve personally known several folks injured by them running red lights and swerving carelessly. They’re literally bringing India with them and turning parts of the US into second and third world holes.
So now California has an official holiday for crapping in the streets?
We are being colonized. Someone save us.

Subtle rebuke of the H1-b changes
I was in Jiri, Nepal for Diwali back in the early 90s and my Sherpa guide told us to stay in the hotel because the Hindus might attack us. They don’t like whites.
A true multiculturalist would make every holiday from every culture around the world an official holiday.
Then we’d never have to go to work.
I’m getting to the point there should be no official holidays, save for Memorial day, July 4th, and Veterans day. Instead, recommend to employers to provide an additional 7 floating holidays for full-time employees.
That way, there’s not recognition of any religion, but allows individuals to celebrate their own beliefs as they see fit.
Don’t forget, all Indians are Thuggees. Killing and robbing White people is in their nature.
