It’s not impossible – I have some Polish Jewish ancestry. I picked it, though, because it’s in the broad region where klezmer music was developed and because it’s nicely alliterative with “blues.”

Long story short, I was monkeying around with a blues progression, and decided to substitute a harmonic minor scale for the standard minor blues scale. The result came out sounding like a klezmer band playing blues.
