Residents of a Milwaukee neighborhood are haunted by the death of an elderly woman in her backyard allegedly at the hands of her mentally ill daughter.
Carrie Zettel, 64, called police at about 2 p.m. Sunday to report that her daughter was being violent, according to a search warrant. When police arrived, they found Zettel dead. "It happened in the backyard, and she beat her mother to death with a rock," said a family friend named Susan Henderson-Hoffmann.
A criminal complaint said that police found a rock weighing about 4 pounds and stained with blood near the body. Her body had been covered with a blanket.

The daughterer is a murderer. She doesn’t have a disease, no matter what the mental health shrinks say.
It’s not the years... it’s the miles.
Hey RATs!
Gun control would have prevented this!
Very sorry to hear this. These are such difficult situations. Parents love their children but it's so hard to know how to love someone who is mentally ill. Parents try, in love, to do what they can for their mentally ill kids and it's very hard to hand someone over to "the system" until, unfortunately, something really bad happens and it becomes apparent there is no helping them on a personal basis.
I hope they don’t let her break rocks in jail!
Some huge elderly bubbagirl is going to take her out in prison. Like a 65 year old whoopi goldburg.
When seconds count - police are minutes away.
You got up by yourself? Oh, you're just bragging.
I'm 75, and if get down I need a chair or stool or something to help me get back up.
Suicide no doubt.
Probably cut loose soon after. These nutcases are not locked up in psych centers anymore. They are tossed on the street, and no one bothers to make sure they take their meds. Failure to properly supervise this fruit cake, and make sure she wasn't a threat to herself or others (which she obviously was), means the State of Wisconsin is complicit in this woman's death.
Looks like a tranny.
I couldn’t hand him over, no one would take him in to the system. There is no system. The families are left alone to struggle with the mentally ill.
“..You got up by yourself? Oh, you’re just bragging....”
Yep. I can actually get up from a kneeling position without grabbing anything...I must admit, it’s a lot tougher for me to do so these days, but I can still manage it...lol. My wife just shakes her head as she can’t even get down on her knees anymore. Let alone get back up without some kind of help.
However, nowadays, IF I should happend to drop something...say a pencil, paperclip, pen, etc. I find myself stopping for a split second to determine: “do I really need THAT right now? Before I bend over to pick it up.
FWIW, I’m no fan of getting old. “Golden years, my arse...” LOL.
I tangled with a skateboard when I was 16.
Green stick fractures of every bone in my foot.
Ankle looked like a cantaloupe.
Learned my lesson and never went near another one.
/secretly wants a Moped, though
😁
I can easily see myself old and gimpy, blasting Motörhead in a nursing home.
😜
For things dropped on the floor, I can just bend from the waist to pick it up, but getting down on the floor is a different story.
I was gonna say...
