At a recent gun show I picked up a still-in-the-box Henry Steel Lever 30-30. The gent selling it had shoulder replacement and was unloading the rifle a a good price. He said he had fired it less than 10 times. Not a mark on it. So it came home with me.
My question for the group here is this - what's the 'right' leather sling for this rifle? This rifle will not see hard use - my old faithful Marlin 336R is my rifle for short range stands. It'll go in the woods in two weeks for modern firearm season.
I want a classic leather sling that'll honor the Henry. Nothing highspeed or black - just a simple sling. Don't need the ability to store extra cartridges - the firearm holds six rounds, which is an entire season if my shots are good.
Where might I go to get a quality, durable sling up to the reputation and quality of a Henry?

OK, that’s funny. I was on that site today buying a picatinny rail for that Henry and didn’t see slings. LOL.
There are some really good leathersmiths on Etsy. If you poke around there, you can probably find somebody willing to do a custom build at a decent cost, and get something that’s one of a kind made just the way you want it.

Congratulations on your acquisition.
The sling that will look right on it will be the one you use properly if you know how to “loop up” to stabilize it while taking long shots. You can read about all this in a book
“The Art of the Rifle” by Col. Jeff Cooper.
If it were mine I think a 1903 or 1907 style WWI sling would be just right.
