Eli Lilly taps former US FDA official Peter Marks to head infectious disease

Peter Marks, the former top vaccine regulator who was ousted from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration earlier this year, has joined Eli Lilly (LLY.N), opens new tab, the drugmaker told Reuters on Tuesday.

Marks will oversee molecule discovery and infectious diseases at Lilly, starting this month.

Congressman Billy Tauzin of Louisiana chaired the committee that developed the 2003 legislation that banned HHS from negotiating drug prices for Medicare/Medicaid.

For his services to Big Pharma that cost US taxpayers untold billions, he left his House seat to lead the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America lobbying group. I forgot his salary, but assume it was enormous.
