Questions about a lack of ethics

Posted on 10/10/2025 4:08:50 AM PDT by rellic

I'm considering the purchase of an RV, using it for two months and then abandoning it. I will of course notify the dealer of it's location. "Come get it, the keys are in the ignition." What happens? I'm not concerned about credit ratings. I'm an old man and everything I want or need is paid for and I have sufficient income to cover my needs.

I don't believe you quite get it. I wouldn’t take out a loan if I just wanted a rental. I'd just rent it. If that rental cost $300 dollars a day I simply would not do it. Any questions?

Yes, I have a question.
If you have to do a task, that is too
pricey, but it has to be done,
what would you do?
We are talking $300 per day vs $300
per month.
I don’t need to borrow money, nor do
I worry about credit reports.
But I’m not going to get ripped off.

You asked for our opinion. You got our opinion. It didn’t align with your dodgy plan, so you call us suckers!! If you came here to get approval for your unethical scheme you were wrong. It doesn’t matter if RV dealers are scum. What you propose drags you down to their level, even worse. You would be opening yourself up to unseen liability.

You say you have the means to pay, but you don’t want to pay the price they charge. That’s ok. It means you find another way. There were several good suggestions posted here.

“But I’m not going to get ripped off.”

But it’s OK to rip off a dealer?

Be sure to explain that when you get to the Pearly Gates.
