I'm bummed guys. For the past few days this site is virtually unusable. The words on the screen are teeny tiny to where I can only read them if I super magnify, but then on a cell phone, It's not really feasible. What happened and is there anything I can do?
Yes, I’ve seen the same thing.
A partial work-around, but irritating to use, is to allow your telephone screen to rotate the image sideways. Then read the FreeRepublic screen as if it were landscape.
But that screws up typing severely.
Heh, I have to admit, I stopped and tried to noodle that phrase out from context, but couldn’t quite do it...I know the mindset you describe.
Me too, on my Android. Just happened today.
get a computer.
Same thing going on with mine and its happened before.
Mine does that with the Brave Browser. When I try to enlarge when I am commenting, what I have typed disappears. The type is TINY.
Maybe adjust the type size on your browser or phone.
I went to settings. Then clicked on accessibility. And clicked on Zoom. Normally, that fixes it.
But seems like this was a bad update. It's not just affecting FR. Everything is out of depth. Other apps are affected.
Same here. It's due to updates. Usually it gets fixed.
Same thing going on with mine and its happened before.
It's fine.
Yes, it happened to mine too...
Agree. I have found Opera to be the best for text-intensive sites like FR. All you have to do is put 2 fingers on the screen and spread them apart to enlarge the text.
I had the same problem. I woke up (I think yesterday) and checked FR and the text on my phone was almost too small to read. Had no issues the night before. I’m working around it by using the zoom setting (200%) in Chrome, but any link I click is also zoomed which is a problem. The problem is only with FR, so something changed overnight.
For some of us, it's all we have left in this cruel world.
Mine is fine, sounds you might not be PC literate, I would recommend reaching out to someone that is to fix your issue.
😏😉🤣🤣🤣
That and throwing grape at clay birds.
It is that way on the phone. Very small.
Yes, me too, Google on Adroid.
Site must have lost mobile website optimation settings.
Go into your phone’s Settings find Accesibility and/or Zoom and play with it until you get a better screen
It will affect other websites.
Unless we all got a bug that screwed our phone settings.
Desktop works fine
If you are on Android phone click the three dots, scroll down and click open in chrome browser. Fixed it for me.
When asking for advice one should always include the following information.
1.) Android or IOS.
2.) Browser used.
If you are using Safari, you should get another browser forthwith.
Firefox has the largest selection of extensions and I recommend it on that basis alone for your grievance.
Download two extensions, selected by most positive reviews.
One that will but the browser in “High Contrast Mode” and another that will override the web page encoding for Font & Type. The latter is typically difficult for a non-techie to configure but it can make even the most cacographic page more readable.
