Hamas has agreed to a peace deal pushed by President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza and return the hostages, two years after the terrorist network attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, sparking not only the bloodiest day for Jews since the Holocaust, but a deadly war and a humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip.
Trump took to Truth Social Wednesday to make the announcement: "I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!"
Speaking to Sean Hannity, Trump said he expects the hostages to be released on Monday. He did not elaborate on whether he would be going to the region, although Netanyahu invited him to address the Israeli parliament on Sunday.
Moments before the president's announcement, photos emerged from the negotiation room in Sharm el-Sheikh showing senior officials embracing and shaking hands as reports indicated significant progress toward a hostage release deal. Retired General Nitzan Alon was seen shaking hands with Qatar’s Prime Minister Al-Thani, with special envoy Steve Witkoff in the background.

Am I the only person who doesn’t give a crap? They’ve been fighting since before I was born and they’ll be fighting long after I’m dead. No peace plan is going to stop that.
HAMAS MAY release all the hostages and hostage bodies but once they get their 1500 or so murderers out of Israeli prisons, it will be Jihad time all over again. Anything short of their total destruction leaves us open for another attack and war in a few years.
It always turns out, in these personnel swaps, that one Jew is worth about 1000 Palestinians. Which defines actual value of these groups in real time. </not-sarcasm>
They’ll give the Peace Prize to Kuschner and Witkoff, and all the Arabs involved....not Trump. They announce tomorow, I think.

Only if they’re allowed back into Gaza. I think the plan is to send them to various Arab states in the region. They need to be banned from ever returning to Gaza or the West Bank if this thing is ever going to work.

Yeah this rings like it’s right.
When i heard about the plan and how it was an exchange of innocent civilian hostages for murderous islamic radical extremist mental cases. I knew that this wasn’t going to work in the long term. But for the short term, you take the win and walk away.
Despite all the Western fanfare about the elusive peace in the Middle East, this deal like the ones offered 1920-2025, will not pan out because the PALEOstinians do not want peace.
HAMAS survives amid the devastation that is Gaza = Islamic Victory.
Prisoner exchanges? Maybe this will pan out.
Pali-murderers may be sent to other countries but they will work their way back to the region clandestinely.
This deal is a level one deal without continuation because HAMAS will declare total victory and begin where they left off on October 7th 2023.
When will Western leader wake up to the fact that they are dealing with VERY primitive apes?
