MTG is a national socialist, so this tracks.

I would prefer that government pay for the medical care for those who are too poor to afford it than to subsidize insurance payments so Big Insurance can make more money from the healthcare system. Ultimately, a single payer system for the poor would be cheaper for taxpayers.

I’ve remarked before that her mouth is always fully functional while her brain is in the full sleep mode.

She’s really close to being a Republican version of AOC. For certain she’s an attention seeker.

My rates will increase , but I don’t believe we should fund healthcare premiums. You either believe in limited government or you don’t. Maybe this will dismantle Obamacare , people are just going to go without insurance.

Exactly, also she already voted and bill passed the house.

As usual media is trying to tell a lie here, she is not disagreeing with the resolution as much as with the idea of medical subsidies.

I disagree with her; however the issue is the shutdown NOT negotiating later on medical reforms.

Once again just lying liberal media propaganda.

The Maga firebrand [MTG]

Well, there's a lie.

Has MTG ever talked sensibly about entitlements and the democrats’ deliberate use of subsidies to build permanent dependency?

She’s been very noisy over the years banging the drum over whatever populist MAGA target is convenient.

But she’s only now discovering that her own adult children are on the dole ... and so she’s now supporting a continuation of the dole?

What will she do if she ever figures out that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme?

The problem when people go without health insurance is that the Emergency rooms fill up because that is the only way they seek medical care when they have no choice. The percentage of people that go to Emergency departments with no insurance is staggering.

Or her constructive ideas before a crisis rather than just bitching afterward?

It may just be politics. She may be being allowed to survive in the broken state of Georgia, her seat being too important to the Republicans. She can make advertisements and not affect outcomes.

The trick is going to be getting rid of the Georgia ‘Rats in the US Senate, which Kemp has given us.

The reason that the GOP runs into these problems is that it never puts forth a serious Republican / conservative proposal to address healthcare costs before a crisis hits. The GOP should have proposals for reducing health costs, reducing housing costs, reducing rental costs. All the problems that are causing young people to vote for literal Communists. But the GOP careens from one crisis to another, or gets on camera to talk about how outraged they are at Biden’s authoritarian administration without doing anything.

“Medicare Premium Bill....Current Premium Due...Total Amount Due $555.00 by 10/25/2025”

That’s from a document that came on the 6th.

That’s $185/month.

The Left couldn’t destroy Trump or our government with lawfare, but they can destroy it with an in-perpetuity shutdown. There is no way to keep the government going if the Left doesn’t cooperate on funding it. It’s high stakes blackmail.

Sorry MTG, the gummit has no business in the insurance industry. They are the reason rates are so high.

A suggestion from me:

FAIR SHARE PPACA PREMIUM MINIMUMS

I would impose these premium minimums, whichever is the higher:
1. 2% of the Medicare premium amount per insured year of age as of the start of coverage
2. a percentage of the premium amount equal to the household income percentage of FPL - 60% divided by 3

For a 5-year-old, 7-year-old, 32-year-old and 34-year-old, the ages would sum to 88 and the monthly absolute minimum premium amount would be a (88/65)*$185 or $250.46.

For a 5-year-old kid and a 27-year-old mom the ages would sum to 32 and the monthly absolute minimum premium amount would be (32/65)*$185 or $91.07.

To make all that palatable to the Democrats, I would lower the original PPACA subsidy threshold from 100% of FPL to 80% of FPL.
