I was not in Congress when all this Obamacare, “Affordable Care Act” [expletive deleted] started.

I got here in 2021. As a matter of fact, the ACA made health insurance UNAFFORDABLE for my family after it was passed, with skyrocketing premiums higher than our house payment.

I was not in Congress when all this Obamacare, “Affordable Care Act” bullshit started. I got here in 2021. As a matter of fact, the ACA made health insurance UNAFFORDABLE for my family after it was passed, with skyrocketing premiums higher than our house payment.

Let’s just say as nicely as possible, I’m not a fan.

But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district.

No I’m not towing the party line on this, or playing loyalty games. I’m a Republican and won’t vote for illegals to have any tax payer funded healthcare or benefits.

I’m AMERICA ONLY!!!

I’m carving my own lane.

And I’m absolutely disgusted that health insurance premiums will DOUBLE if the tax credits expire this year.

Also, I think health insurance and all insurance is a scam, just be clear!

Not a single Republican in leadership talked to us about this or has given us a plan to help Americans deal with their health insurance premiums DOUBLING!!!

Our country sent $30 billion to Israel in 2024 alone killing countless innocent children and sent HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS to Ukraine in the past few years. By the way, I voted NO to all of that murder! America has funded the Ukrainian government, Ukrainian, pensions, and Ukrainian businesses during this entire stupid war that America should have nothing to do with.

All our country does is fund foreign countries and foreign wars, and never does anything to help the American people!!!

It is absolutely shameful, disgusting, and traitorous, that our laws and policies screw the American people so much that the government is shut down right now fighting over basic issues like this.

Again, NO FUNDING FOR ILLEGALS AND ANY BENEFITS FOR THEM, BUT WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE ABSOLUTELY INSANE COST OF INSURANCE FOR AMERICANS.

You don’t HATE your government enough.

I’m here in Washington DC this week to meet with anyone who is AMERICA ONLY and will work with me on a plan for AMERICANS ONLY!!! Infographic text details potential premium increases from tax credit expiration, showing enhanced subsidies expiring could raise subsidized enrollee premiums by 114 percent from 888 dollars in 2025 to 1904 dollars in 2026, impact on affordability more than doubling out-of-pocket payments for millions of Americans, KFF analysis finding 60-year-old couple making 85000 dollars see yearly payments rise by over 22400 dollars.

The “Affordable” Care Act was purportedly to make insurance and medicine cheaper because of socialist magic unicorns.

When the magic didn’t happen, the costs exploded.

So instead of repealing the monstrosity, they want to add subsidies in order to make the Unaffordable Care Act more “affordable”.

And like happens with college tuitions, the funding will just make the costs increase even faster.

Why is it that I don’t trust the numbers by KFF?

What needs to happen is to abolish obamacare but that has zero chance of happening.

She also does not mention that the policies not only have unaffordable premiums but that most can’t afford the deductible. Five years ago the premium and deductible were enough to pay for two of our first houses back in 1980.

For almost all but the subsidized indigent population affordalbe care is NOT.

She won’t be in Congress when it’s fixed either.

Medicare is entering its worst year ever. It was fine up til 2021. 2026 ranks in the pits.

Wasn't there an effort made to repeal Obamacare, with McCain casting the deciding vote in the Senate before he passed away? If memory serves, he did that as a deliberate poke in the eye to then President Trump.

Another effort needs to be made to repeal this monstrousity, once and for all.

“””when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE,””

If they had real jobs they would get their insurance through their employers instead of the government.

Affordable Care Act

It was passed in the middle of the night, on a straight party line and not a single member of Congress had read it.

The Trump administration has argued that federal employees are not automatically entitled to back pay, maintaining that Congress must approve any such payments in legislation ending the shutdown.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed the possibility of some federal workers not getting paid when the shutdown ends.

"As we’ve said before, the livelihoods of the patriotic Americans serving their country in the federal government are not bargaining chips in a political game," Everett Kelley said. "It’s long past time for these attacks on federal employees to stop and for Congress to come together, resolve their differences, and end this shutdown."

The president of the American Federation of Government Employees condemned the possibility that some workers could be denied back pay.

"As we’ve said before, the livelihoods of the patriotic Americans serving their country in the federal government are not bargaining chips in a political game," Everett Kelley said. "It’s long past time for these attacks on federal employees to stop and for Congress to come together, resolve their differences, and end this shutdown."

The government shutdown has stretched into its second week with no end in sight. Numerous votes on competing bills to reopen the government have failed.

Democrats are conditioning their support for short-term funding on extending health subsidies that lower the cost of Affordable Care Act plans. Republicans have said negotiations over health care subsidies should take place only after the government is reopened.

Because we had to pass it to know what was in it, according to Nancy Pelosi.

Ignore my previous reply. I must have accidentally pasted stuff into it.

What I meant to say was “Because we had to pass it to know what was in it, according to Nancy Pelosi.”

Let’s just say as nicely as possible, I’m not a fan.

So why in Heaven's Name are you feckless Republicans NOT ADVANCING LEGISLATION TO REPEAL Barry's and Nancy's and Chuckie's abomination? You have a President who WILL sign such legislation ...

Is that what you're afraid of? Actually doing something, instead of bitching, whining, and complaining?

It gets too much use and abuse for one thing. Nobody I know even thinks about managing their care instead of just going whole hog.

Medicine is broken and will drive us to the ground. The cost will destroy us and it is doing so right now.

You don’t like “26? You’d really hate it if you were in IRMA territory and had to pay more than double the basic premium after having paid in for a lifetime at very high rates. Sounds a lot like communism doesn’t it? From each according to his means and to each according to his needs. Punish success, see where it gets you.

Obamacare screwed me out of thousands of dollars. First, I was in business for myself and was able to have health insurance written through my business. Obamacare forced me to include healthcare as income and because of my advanced age, the increase in “income” also threw me into a higher tax bracket. Second, the “increase” in income had me paying the IRS significantly more. In three years the “Magic Negro” cost me over $100K in income that I had prepared to apply to my retirement.

You think that is a “real” job? Being a wage slave to someone else? How sad. That is truly a life for a sheep.

They couldn’t get one-payer, like the euros, so they settled for this mess, Obamacare.
Our problem is we don’t have an Uncle Sugar—like the euros—to pay for our defense.

Soley written and crafted to benefit insurers and bureaucrats. Less treatment, more cost, more bureaucratic approvals and authorizations required.
