Great...nobody makes anything but we all provide health care to each other. Sounds like a real robust economy.
If I were just starting out, I’d go for the trades.
I see we no longer have a need for engineers.
We are turning into Cuba.
Software Developers - Someone has to untangle and repair all the AI generated code.
Not ONE actual trade or physically involved job listed.
What machine is going to install your plumbing? What is going to ensure the HVAC in your hospital is operating? What will ensure the backup systems are operable?
I can guarantee it ain’t gonna be AI.
beware or ‘experts’ funneling people into specific careers. i remember the big guidance counselor scam of the 70s. high schoolers were told be just about every ‘expert’ that there would be a shortage in guidance counselors (gc), and steered students into seeking gc degrees. result was a double whammy - in 4 years there was a glut in gc degree earners seeking careers, and the economy tanked, leaving localities forced to cut costs, and school costs. guess which jobs got hit the hardest. so all these kids who got gc degrees ended up competing for fewer and fewer positions against people with experience. again - listen to the ‘experts; at your own risk
Stockers and Order fillers?
Have these people been in a modern warehouse? Robots will be doing this stuff in ten years.
Looks about right for our aging population.
Beau and I tease that we have our own ‘Healthcare Team’ right within the family. We have a Dental Tech, a Pharmacist, a Cardiac Nurse, a Bus driver (transportation in our old age!) and two Healthcare aids.
Not everyone in this current ‘younger generation’ is a slacker! ;)
Notice the absence of trades workers? Or did I miss that?
"Somebody's gotta cook the french fries, kid. You'll be good at it."
If a young person were to ask me, I'd say to just not participate in their world and to go DO something, anything that is legal, for SOMEONE who would pay them for it.
What a bleak future for high school kids to aspire to.
