ederal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia are seeking to indict former FBI Director James Comey for lying to Congress in 2020 about his handling of the Russia election interference investigation.
Comey may be indicted by a grand jury for lying under oath on September 30, 2020 when he was being questioned before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the sharing of classified details from memos about early 2017 meetings with then-president Trump.
The probe into Comey is working against a fast-approaching deadline next week, when the 5-year statute of limitations expires on Sept. 30, 2025.
MSNBC reports that three sources familiar with the case have said that former FBI Director James Comey “is expected to be indicted in the coming days.”
Fox News has also reported that a source told them, “DOJ officials are close to deciding whether to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey for allegedly lying to Congress in September 2020. There is a grand jury underway looking at the matter in Virginia. A decision could come any day.”
Exactly which parts of Comey’s testimony could be subject to perjury charges remains unclear as well as the extent of the charges he may face.
Just last week, President Trump replaced federal prosecutor Eric Seibert with Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide who previously represented Trump during the investigation into his retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
If prosecutors succeed in securing an indictment against Comey, he would become the first senior government official to face prosecution in the 2016 Russian election interference hoax that was used to justify spying on the Trump campaign and administration.
The current Dept. of Justice and FBI have not yet commented on the current investigation but White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has told Fox News that multiple charges are expected against Comey.

It’s an ongoing conspiracy that Comey started in 2016 and continues to push to this day. Lying to Congress is the least of his worries.

Comey is just one in a bundle of people (Clinton, Bidens, James, Schiff) who should already be sitting in jail, but aren’t because of their connections. And the gov’t wonders why people don’t trust them.

It’s going to be in DC if he is. Trump solved all their crime but he still won’t find a jury willing to convict any deep state saboteurs.
