Dont know if anyone was raptured but I am still here.I will add however that my Left Behind itches.Hope God has a sense of humor,
Funny!
A theory I have is that us American Christians put too much western bias into prophecies.
For example, since the Daniel 2 statue explicitly states only 1 portion of the statue (Babylon), perhaps we're wrong about a least one of the other segments (Medes/Persian, then Greece, then Rome). Perhaps we should count Greece and Rome together as one segment (especially since they had the same Gods just renamed) and count the Ottoman Empire as the legs. And the toes made of iron mixed with clay may have been the Muslim states within the OE that couldn't get along (have you paid attention to the Middle East?). The OE for centuries controlled the Middle East, particularly Jerusalem, and thus IMHO deserves at least consideration as pertaining to Biblical prophecy.
Yet most of us American Christians don't even think about the OE because we didn't get much of our culture from it. Or did we? Charlamagne's creation of modern Europe was a response to Muslim invaders. During the era of the Atlantic Slave Trade that the Dims talk ad nauseum about, there were other slaves such as 5 to 6 million white slaves captured by or sold to the Ottoman Empire, not counting the 500K to 1.2 million white slaves captured by Barbary pirates from North Africa (fringe part of the OE) and taken to north Africa. This is literally the main reason George Washington pressed for and signed into law the 1794 Slave Act, as well as the building up of navies among European nations. The OE finally officially outlawed slavery in the years leading up to WW1, but still had some while Europe fought and defeated the OE just a century ago in WW1. This is part of the carving up of the Middle East to keep another OE from springing up, including the recreation of the nation of Israel after WW2 (because the squeaky wheel gets the grease and tons of Muslim nations fussed after WW1 about making Israel).
Yet you rarely hear or read an American or European Christian talk about the OE in Bible prophecy. Not even words with "theory" or "perhaps" like I'm doing.
John Nelson Darby, who invented the Rapture back in the 1830s, is laughing from his grave!
Instead stop looking up and focus on the need at hand...because, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few..."
We will see the signs and know the seasons. That’s about as close as we can get.
The word was invented in the 1600s. So of course, the word rapture is in the Bible. the Greek word harpazō, meaning “to snatch away” or “to seize,”
</chuckle>
I’m not talking about the word, but the theology that was developed by him.
Is there a stock fund that just the opposite of this idiot
We are all going to die, soon, doonet, or too soon. Except a few of us will beg to die for a decade at least. The lucky ones, lol.
Meet Jesus. Hope He knows you.
Exactly the same, FRiend.
I think that’s the hundredth end of the world I’ve lived thru.
