‘I Forgive Him' - Erika Kirk on Husband Charlie's Killer
Newsweek ^ | Sep 21, 2025 | Hollie Silverman

Posted on 09/21/2025 5:11:32 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk who was assassinated earlier this month, told a crowd of thousands during a packed memorial in Glendale, Arizona, for her late husband that she has forgiven his shooter.

I forgive him," Kirk said through tears, adding after cheers rang out from the crowd, "I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do."

While talking about her late husband, she said part of his mission was to "save young men just like the one who took his life."

Jesus forgave during his brutal persecution.

Ideally we are to forgive immediately upon being wronged, but admittedly, the shock of it can prevent that in all but the best among us.

Yes, Trump has some work to do on that score.

Work out your salvation in fear and trembling, is the operative admonition!

“Such incredible strength and devotion to her God.
Truly a remarkable woman.

She must forgive, it’s in her faith - it’s a requirement.

Now, let the authorities investigate, try, sentence and imprison the man (and any co-conspirators) as he waits for the firing squad.”

Moving forward, she might speak against the death penalty and defer to our God for the ultimate punishment. That’s what I would do. Pro-life is pro-life. Flame away.

Agreed.

However, I have come to perceive the Death Penalty as a mercy.
Those on Death Row KNOW the date they will meet their Maker.
They must decide. They know their date of death. No waiting and skating.
They are FORCED to decide, because they KNOW when they are going to die.

She did what was right and righteous before GOD. Charlie is a rest with The Lord. Nothing can harm him now. Erika by her act handed satan a huge defeat. She refused to allow his hate to enter her home so that he could kill souls through hate. Hate if held onto can destroy you. Now their kids can have a mother who through The Holy Spirit has taken satan's threat away and made him loose because despite his attack on Charlie and his family did not win souls which is what he seeks to destroy.

Forgiveness does not mean a perp will not stiff face earthly consequences for their deeds. That is made clear at the cross where two men were beside Jesus on a cross as well. One mocked Jesus. The other said do you not fear GOD even when dying? We deserve our punishment but hr did nothing to deserve this. Then he said Jesus remember me in your kingdom. What happened? Jesus said I tell you toad you will be with me in paradise. He did not take himself nor them down from the cross. The one thief was certainly forgiven.

Next look at the next death a hate driven lynch mob execution actually of Stephen. His final words.

59 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Among those present he was forgiving was a young man who would become the Apostle Paul. He was holding their coats. In the early church he had a huge hatred for Christians.

No death penalty
It’s her prerogative but not her call legally
You could see this coming from the instant it happened

Not me

There is no conciliation with these people

My estimate is the true believers are maximum 15-20% with 15-20% stupid kids and others older up the demographic line thrown in who are dying off like me b1957

They have to be crushed politically

Without media and other institutions they would be fairly impotent

Which is why this Kimmel fight and stopping our taxes thru dollars funding their street mobs and so on matter a lot

Romans 12:19-20 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

You either walk with faith and trust the Lord or you are as wicked as those who stand against him. Period full stop. Get right with God. There is no in between. It is the weak of mind and spirit who let the wicked to live in their minds and hearts. Today we witnessed a great outpouring of God’s love that the Holy Spirit touched millions. If Mrs. Kirk can embrace God’s love then only truly weak in faith and mind cannot. Any true Christian knows this to be true without doubt or hesitatoon. Get right with the Lord more suffering is coming.

“Moving forward, she might speak against the death penalty and defer to our God for the ultimate punishment.”

She said she does not want to death penalty because she does not want that to be why she has to answer before God to.enter Heaven. She said she leaves it to the state to decide. She is a amazing woman of faith who fully understands only God can issue vengeance.

Here is here full speech her words are clear. She doesn’t want the death penalty. It couldn’t be more clear.

This is fine.

But her husband’s killer isn’t going to be forgiven by society at large because she’s let go of it.

You know what happens when society “forgives”? A judge lets someone like George Floyd any of a LARGE number of illegal aliens or Decarlos Brown (murderer of Iryna Zarutska) out of jail, out of accountability for their actions repeatedly until someone gets murdered, never mind all the people who were hurt either violently and/or economically from those thugs’ actions previously.

Leaving the perp on the street unjudged victimizes ALL of us.

It is society’s responsibility and RIGHT, power granted by We The People to our judicial system to arrest, arraign, try, convict, sentence (to death if the law requires it) and carry out that sentence.

THEN forgiveness can happen. The rest of us will raise a glass in celebration and donate to GiveSendGo for the victim(s).

The perp still needs to face the judge not of this world, but the next.

She was completely correct in her response in Christ, which was a very powerful witness and requires incredible grace.

I also believe Trump’s response - in as much as it relates to the right function of government - is also correct as chief executive of our government.

Romans 13

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

The pre-meditated murderer took a great man from all of us. Individual responses may vary. I cannot forgive a pre-meditated murderer for the assassination of an innocent, peaceful, harmless, god-fearing, family-loving, humanity-loving, America-loving righteous man. Thanks for your work Charlie Kirk.

It is a very effective deterrent from those that would follow suit in the same evil act.
