A new proposal by Senator Jim Banks aims to restructure the H-1B visa system, drastically raising wage requirements and limiting alternatives companies use to hire foreign workers.

The American Tech Workforce Act includes three main reforms. First, it increases the minimum required salary for H-1B visa holders from $60,000 to $150,000, which may disincentivize companies to look abroad for talent.
The bill would also eliminate the OPT program, which allows foreign graduates to work in the U.S. for up to three years post-graduation.
Thirdly, the bill replaces the current lottery system with a model awarding visas to the highest-bidding employers, adding a cost-based filter to discourage misuse.
Banks hopes that the changes are essential to address what he calls "domestic outsourcing.

Pulse make them pay in to a bond that will forfeit if they over stay their visa’s and hit them with a ban for 50 years from the USA.
It was designed from inception to bring in low-wage indentured servants to fill targeted professions and reduce the cost of staffing those professions. Every so-called protection measure for American workers has been gamed to accomplish the real goal, while confusing and distracting opponents with imaginary compromises.
Send all of the H1-B workers back to their home countries.

I recently sent out a few dozen tech related resumes. I noticed I have gotten zero Indian or Pakistani responses. 2 years ago they were ALL foreign responses. They figured out that was a bad PR move. It is still very hard to get a tech job for white Americans.

Were these copies of your resume, or resumes of other people? Were these other people foreigners?

What is a foreign response? An Indian response? A Pakistani response?
I have a list of 6000 HR department and recruiter email addresses.
And I will re-phrase this.
I have not gotten any responses from people that have a non-American accent or have an Indian sounding name.
And I will send you my resume if you are that curious.

Never send an indian your resume as they only use it to claim they considered an American. Indians are racists.

I want the number of visas to be reduced. I want them cut by at least 2/3. I am goin g to say it, that a lot of politicians on both sides are getting greased to look the other way on H1-B visas and let even more people in.
It’s time to invest in American workers. Time to shut down the low wage labor train. I will be watching very carefully this issue in the coming years.
