Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show was suspended by ABC on Wednesday following a brief pressure campaign from the Trump administration as well as conservatives in the media, who successfully twisted Kimmel’s words following last week’s assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
During Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, the comedian criticized conservatives for trying to “score political points” off Kirk’s death.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his monologue on Monday.
Kimmel’s slightly ambiguous comments came after conservatives spent the weekend blaming the left and transgender people for Kirk’s killing. At the time, the public knew little about the alleged shooter’s motives. Prosecutors disclosed on Tuesday that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, told his trans roommate and apparent romantic partner, “I had enough of his hatred.”

The affiliates and advertisers were pulling out. Disney had no choice. The more they talk, the more likely his show won’t return at all, if it ever had a chance in the first place.

the left wants to pretend that this was 100% trump squelching free speech, because it is the closest thing to an issue people might agree with them on Trump has given them this year.

Yeah, Robinson comes from a conservative family and was raised as such. But in Kimmel's 'mind' somehow this guy who assassinated a Trump ally and who has a transgender SO must be a MAGA conservative? Is there any blood going to his brain? Is he trying to say this was intended as a false flag op or something? What a moron.
Well you have to have the actual writer, the political officer to keep an eye on the writer, and the political education officer to give doctrinal refreshers, cheerlead, and keep an eye on the political officer.
Deciding to double down is probably not your best career move.
Of course this is the guy who could only get people to watch his stuff by having busty girls jumping on trampolines so...
