Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show was suspended by ABC on Wednesday following a brief pressure campaign from the Trump administration as well as conservatives in the media, who successfully twisted Kimmel’s words following last week’s assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
During Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, the comedian criticized conservatives for trying to “score political points” off Kirk’s death.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his monologue on Monday.
Kimmel’s slightly ambiguous comments came after conservatives spent the weekend blaming the left and transgender people for Kirk’s killing. At the time, the public knew little about the alleged shooter’s motives. Prosecutors disclosed on Tuesday that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, told his trans roommate and apparent romantic partner, “I had enough of his hatred.”

I stopped reading Rolling Stone when PJ O’Rourke stopped working for them.
All these late shows including Saturday Night Live have lost audience to other TV, Cable, podcasts, etc. The ONLY one doing well is Gutfeld!
The fact is Kimmel’s rating sucked. So do all the other shows getting canceled. IF these shows were profitable, they would still be on TV. Disney is a corporation is business to make a profit. This show was not profitable. The View MUST be still profitable or they would have cancelled that too.
The View has become much more of a LEGAL LIABILITY than almost any other show on TV.
The authors are living proof that liberal brainwashing works.

Kimmel’s ratings were already down 24% before he tried to claim Kirk’s 20 something gay lover with the transsexual lover was a quintessential Trump supporter based on the fact his parents were registered Republicans and made a good living. There was nothing ambiguous or muddled in his statement and yes unless he got all his news from ABC he should have known the kid held left wing views if not far left views. A company with a large number of ABC affiliates in red states was outraged because this sort of deliberate misinformation was likely to further impact ABC and Kimmel ratings threatened to preempt Kimmel’s shows on their stations which I assume would further impact ABC’s advertising revenues so ABC did what every company does when faced with a consumer revolt, they decided to stop pissing their customers off. The fact that Rolling Stone finds this alarming or incomprehensible goes a long way to explaining their circulation problems.

Rolling Stone had it twisted. Jimmy Kimmel was losing tons of money for ABC just as Stephen Colbert was. The proper way to look at Kimmel’s firing was “ABC was looking for an excuse” as any employer would. Give me a reason. MAGA’s outrage would have been ignored if his program was a money-maker rather than niche-programming exclusively tailored to woke-progressives.
Seems to me the Left/Democrats/Deep State is willing to foment violence but then blames the closest Republican when it happens.

That is a gigantic lie. Everyone (including Kimmel) knew within hours of the release of Robinson’s name that he was a leftwing homosexual. His own parents said immediately that he became a hardcore leftist in recent years. We also knew he had a trans roommate who he was engaging in homo sex with.
The fags, Andrew Perez and Asawin Suebsaeng are as usual trying to hide their fingerprints, covering up for one of their own homosexual ANTIFA members.

Exactly right, combine that with ABC just losing a $16 million dollar lawsuit to President Trump and Kimmel’s timing could not have been worse.

Rolling Stone’s paid circulation fell from ~1.5 million in 2017 to ~455,000 in 2023 (including 414,000 subscriptions), a ~70% decline.
I’m getting angry. First they kill Charlie Kirk. I say ‘they’ because they’ve spent 10 years calling Trump, and anyone associated with him a ‘fascist’. So then a 22 year old, having listened to this drumbeat of lies, decides, ‘hey, I’ll be a hero if I kill a fascist.’ So he does it. And now they’re going to lie about it!!!
Kimmel importance is less than that of a pea under a pile of a hundred mattresses. 🙄🙄
