Arrrr....we lost to the Cubs on Wednesday and Arrr licking our wounds. Being dead last in our division and eliminated from the post season isn’t helping.
A little Jack Sparrow trivia:
-
“Disney was not happy with the early footage they saw of Depp playing Sparrow. Some interpreted his character as insane, others incredibly drunk, and some thought he was turning Sparrow into a gay character. It led to several discussions with angry executives trying their best to get Depp to change things up. Depp refused, and said they’d have to fire him if they wanted Sparrow played differently. Firing Depp would’ve been a bad look for Disney so they kept them, and the rest is history.”

I dropped in on a friend and gave her a wooden parrot, and said “Let’s bury cutlass, we smokum cannon powder.” Turns out her friend was a Pirate American. Awkward!
I offered to take the pirate friend to a good pirate restaurant. I asked the mailman “You must know were the Long John Silver’s is!” He said “Arrr, why must AYE know???”
Then I suggested we watch Cry Cry Again. I said that I had a pirated, I mean, bootlegged copy of it.
Some9ne is bound to poat a pirate pun Schooner or later
I’d bet my new neighbor across the street knows about TLAP day. He started setting up his pirate Halloween decorations in his front yard on September 1. He is still adding to it daily and there are already 20 full human size skeletons dressed as pirates and in various poses. Manning the captain’s wheel, prone with a sword in the back and much more. Pirate music on...yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
He got the okay, in writing, from the HOA, to set it up before he would buy the house. He has a website he posts pictures of it all. Sometimes my dog thinks there are live people over there so he’ll bark at it. Lol.
Not sure about that naming convention though... My new moniker turned out to be Blue Wolf Nerd...

Which is actually kinda close... :-)
Today would be a good day to reread The Pyrates, by George MacDonald Fraser. I recommend that book (well, anything by Fraser) to anyone.
