Ukraine expects $3.5 billion fund for US weapons to sustain fight against Russia, Zelenskyy says

Ukraine expects there will be around $3.5 billion by next month in a fund to buy weapons from the United States and help sustain its more than three-year fight against Russia’s all-out invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday.

The financial arrangement known as the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, or PURL, pools contributions from NATO members, except the United States, to purchase American weapons, munitions and equipment.

“We received more than $2 billion from our partners specifically for the PURL program," Zelenskyy said at a joint news conference in Kyiv with visiting European Parliament President Roberta Metsola. "We will receive additional money in October. I think we will have somewhere around $3.5-3.6 billion.”

Zelenskyy declined to provide details of what weapons the first shipments would include, but said that they would definitely contain missiles for Patriot air defense missile systems and munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS.

“”””””Good for America. Bad for Russia.””””””

Bad for China, for Russia, for North Korea, for the Muslims.

“The global annual production of Patriot missiles is estimated to be somewhere around 850 to 880 per year, according to Fabian Hoffman, an air defense and missile expert at the University of Oslo. That number could hit 1,130 by 2027.”

I’m sure that fund, and where all that money is coming from will be open and transparent, right?

--- "...known as the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, or PURL, pools contributions from NATO members, except the United States...."

And somebody "pools" the money, acting as an intermediary. Wonder what the cost-per-transaction is or will be?

Reuters calls it a "novel funding mechanism." Marketing always launches "branding," and this is a "novel" new brand. Knit one; purl two.

For those who wish a Ukrainian website's reporting [ machine translation ]:

As reported, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a meeting with the US President Donald Trump told journalists about the agreement reached on weapons for Ukraine. According to him, the United States agreed to sell a significant amount of weapons to NATO member countries for further transfer to Ukraine, while taking into account its own defense needs.

Also The USA and NATO concluded an agreement, which provides for the shipment of American weapons to Ukraine at the expense of European countries.

[ The site is in Ukrainian, for those Freepers who read Ukrainian. ]

Like that last bit: "at the expense of European countries."

As it should be.

That money doesn't include budgetary support to pay the government officials' pensions, salaries, emergency services and a host of other government expenses. The US and to lesser extent, NATO, props up the Ukraine to make it look like a functioning country. Z-man reminds the West that he needs $40 Billion in Budget Support annually. Forever, or so it seems.

Z-man's apologists are bragging about the economic damage they are inflicting on Russia without regard for their own economy because the West pays for them 'to play' at 'winning'.

Trump sold weapons to NATO and if it wishes, NATO can give those weapons to Ukraine. That exchange is being falsely portrayed as Trump providing weapons to Ukraine as if the terms have not changed. Here are the terms of America's stance regarding supporting the war in Ukraine (I don't know about humanitarian aid):

“We’re no longer involved with funding Ukraine, but we are involved with trying to stop the war and the killing in Ukraine. So we’re selling missiles and military equipment, millions and millions and ultimately billions of dollars to the NATO people,” Trump said. “So, they’re funding the entire war. We’re not funding anything. I think it’s an important point to make.”

So, you want Ukraine to give up and let Russia take over the country and kill and destroy everything there? But you don’t want Russia to just go home and stop the war? All that is going on is Russia’s doing. Only the other bots here, like you, believe what you say.

Russia can’t dig a trench without some general getting paid under the table. What makes you think that Russia’s nukes work?? LOL !!

You never know. The CIA has thrown away trillions of dollars away to foreign countries to push coups, weapons, wars, and anything else they wanted. Who knows what's still going on behind the scenes in that crap agency.

I have no desire to test the theory that Russia’s nukes are all duds. Even if half work—it is the end of The United States as we know it. Only Winner? China who will be the only superpower left on earth. Risk it all for what? Ukraine? The Dombas? Mr. Zelensky’s ego? So called Ukrainian Freedom that doesn’t exist? Get your head out of Reagan’s America—Russia isn’t thee threat she once was-

Nothing but tens of thousands of documented tests that demonstrated their destructive capabilities. Is this the new Zeeper line of reasoning? Nuclear war won't hurt anyone because maybe the Russian arsenal which is larger than our own and is much more modernized won't work? Russia has been modernizing aggressively, fielding new ICBMs (Sarmat), hypersonic glide vehicles (Avangard), and nuclear-powered cruise missile projects.

You must be a genius!!!
