She was once the belle of the awards season ball, gracing the red carpet of every Hollywood soirée.

Yet at Sunday night's Emmy Awards, Sydney Sweeney appeared to have fallen out of favour with her fellow stars, with the Euphoria actress making a subdued appearance on the biggest night in television.

While she took to the stage to present Owen Cooper with the Outstanding Supporting Actor award, Sydney was not pictured mingling with any of the celebrities backstage, nor was she seen at any of the afterparties.

With Sydney once Hollywood's darling, questions have been raised over why her involvement at the Emmys was so limited - with it suggested that it may have something to do with the recent controversies she has faced.

The Anyone But You star has been on shaky ground after a huge backlash over her American Eagle denim campaign, which was branded 'Nazi propaganda' by critics.

It has also been revealed that the blonde beauty is a registered member of the Republican Party, which sparked a hugely divided response.

In contrast, much of Sunday night's ceremony was taken up with woke celebrities lambasting President Trump's policies.

Four days after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, not one reference was made about the proud Republican.

Yet while celebrities remained silent on Kirk, many of Sunday's speeches were full of references to contemporary political issues.

Hacks star Hannah Einbinder, 30, used the end of her acceptance speech to spotlight Palestine.

After picking up the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, the actress concluded her address saying: 'Finally, go birds, **** ICE and free Palestine - thank you!'
