I have Aldi about 2 miles from my home. I get ALL my meats there now. They’re very good and cheaper than everyone else.

Yep, if only the items I like were consistently available, not the case. The 70% cocao chocolate bars, Spinach and Chicken sausages and pork Knackwurst are rarely available especially the Knackwurst. Thinking maybe that one only is in stock for Oktoberfest season? So maybe it will be in stock again soon.

Less variety but generally as good or better quality than what's found on major grocery store shelves. Less expensive (frequently with fewer and healthier ingredients on the label) house branded products, and one or two of the best of the known American brands mixed in. Their produce doesn't seem to keep as long. So it's best to buy it for use same day or the the next.

But their German and Austrian chocolates? Excellent. Advent products? Like what you'd find at a Weinachtsmarkt. Another treat that's sometimes hard to find are the frozen Gelato varieties. Overall my favorite grocery.

Their packaged meat has a weird odor.

"Aldi has good stuff."

Being a German store, they don't sell Ritter Bars. My son either buys him when he goes to Germany, or he orders them from an online German Store here in the U.S. The one thing I don't like about Aldi's is that they don't continually carry the same products from week to week. I'll find something that's good, but then when I go back again, they don't have it, and it doesn't get restocked ever again, or it takes a long time. My oldest son told me about Chicken and Pork Schnitzel patties at the Aldi's in Latham, NY sometime last year. I looked for them at the Aldi's here in Rome, NY, and they had none. They finally showed up 3-4 months ago, sold out quickly, and they haven't gotten them back again. He also told me about gyro kits he's found in the freezer section at the same Aldi's he usually shops with. They haven't shown up here. I've tried another Aldi's a little farther away, but they have none of the things I previously got at my local Aldi's. It's hit or miss with Aldi's.
