The AI argument kicked off in late July, just a day after Trump announced his AI plan — a 28-page strategy to accelerate the technology and build new power infrastructure to supply it.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) fired off a tirade on X, complaining that AI could create mass poverty by replacing human jobs, and giant AI data centers could have potentially devastating effects on the environment and water supply.
In the days that followed, GOP strategist Steven Bannon chimed in, comparing the pursuit of AI superintelligence to “summoning the demon.” And since then, think-tankers and populist conservative outlets have continued to stoke worries about federal policies that turbocharge AI development.
On stage at the National Conservatism conference in Washington in early September, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) criticized the AI revolution as a leap towards transhumanism — a human-machine future that he said is currently against “the working man” and the teachings of the Bible, as well as installing “a rich and powerful elite.”
“Americanism and the transhumanist revolution cannot coexist,” Hawley said — a declaration met with spontaneous applause from the audience.

AI is all about digital surveillance and control. They won’t need congress anymore. Everything will be controlled by another country. America will be in full compliance and any resistance will be met by quick elimination.
Trump is selling us out to foreign powers. People just refuse to admit that.
Even greater reason to shut down and dismantle the already 80%+ $3 trillion unconstitutional portion of the federal gov’t.
Starting with an already constitutionally-limited federal gov’t will be easier to handle than starting with the mostly unconstitutional rogue beast which is what we have now.

With all respect, let me share something you may not realize. That is a psyop narrative the Big Tech corporations have put out on purpose to have you accept their digital enslavement. “Us or them” is the biggest con since this all started.
Truth is, these global technology corporations plan to enslave the whole world with this technology. They are selling it to the Chinese just as fast as they are selling it to us. They are selling ammunition to the enemy just the same.
They are loyal to NO country and plan to own them all, they are only loyal to their own global power, control, and profits. They could care less about who controls the inside of the antfarm, all they care about is that they own the whole antfarm from the outside.
And they will throw the United states under the bus in a heartbeat if they have to to do this. So there is no “us or them”. In this respect China and ourselves have a common enemy in the whole of reality. If you believe this “us or them” psyop then you have been brainwashed well...
And they are laughing all the way to bank because you do...
I agree, but we are NOT doing that when we shut down government in one direction but just add to government in a new direction. And not just a new direction, but a direction with even more potential for abuse and enslavement faster and easier than we have now...

First what do you think China is going to use it for? It will not be for anything military like weapons accuracy or control. Both we and they already have had that kind of technology for decades now. We can pinpoint a gnat flying around Xi’s nose. And so can they with Trump.
AI can do nothing to make this any better than they and we are already capable of. So to even think AI is going to help us “beat” them in war is ludicrous. It is low IQ “Football” mind... The Ukraine is making cardboard drones that have NO AI and they are doing devastating work and accuracy. So when it comes to weaponry and “military defense” the narrative is absolute BS and a psyop.
Now what China DOES plan to do with it and are already doing is enslave their own citizenry. So they are ALREADY “beating us” at the game. Because this is exactly why our own government wants it. To enslave the citizenry. So with this reality in mind do we really want to “beat them” to the enslavement of our citizenry??? WTH, really??? Are we actually that stupid to want to beat the Chinese to our own enslavement??? The concept is insane...

Leave it to the private sector period. Absolutely no government use, absolutely no government subcontractor use. Leave it to the private commercial sector and let it end up destroying it’s self. The taxpayers should not be paying Palantir to create databases on every citizen without any probable cause or warrants. But this is exactly what he is doing right now. Also do not allow any AI into federally regulated civilian operations such as Air Traffic Control... HUGE mistake.
I would also discourage to the best of my “Federal” ability and control and/or funding to States and Municipalities the use of it for things like 911 call centers, determining health decisions, educating our young, Etc. Limits need to be put into place. Let China enslave their own, are we actually rooting for our government to enslave us before they can enslave their own??? Are we actually rooting for AI to reduce population because of mistakes before they do???
Well that is exactly what the end cause and effect results will be in the real world...

I am all in... But to replace it something even worse is stupid... I mean seriously, how many times does one have to hear “Sorry but that is not one of your options” on the phone before they realize this is absolutely stupid and is not going to work?
AI is not trustworthy—period. You cannot trust a pure blackbox.

Now, whether we like it or not, AI is here to stay so we better figure out a way to deal with it. My answer is whatever we need to do, it will be easier with a limited MUCH smaller federal gov't.
Part of that will be to monitor and correctly apply what is and is not constitutionally allowed for the feds to use AI.

Now that I absolutely agree with! and NO subsidization from tax dollars. But it is not going to happen. The corporations creating it are Democrats, and those who are utilizing it and currently promoting it are Republicans including our President.

But, you and I agree: Leave AI to the Private Sector.
By the time you feel enslaved it will be too late to stop it. Your auto insurance will be raising your rates in real time as you drive five over the limit, your thermostat will no longer be under your control, your comments online will get you punished in real time, your spending habits will be regulated, and your needed life saving medical procedure will be denied based on AI determination because you bought too much bacon.
You won’t be around to care if you are now enslaved or not.

Enslavement... Wow, have you any idea how much this is already being incorporated before AI? Now with AI it will be digital tracking and control on steroids. Everything we do from the time “they” tell us to get up to the time “they” tell us to go to bed will be regulated in real time through our digital world around us.
We will be literally controlled by remote control through our digital world devices... Just wait until we go with digital currency. Then with one push of a keyboard they can make us cease to exist as an entity on all records. It will be every SiFi movie about the future you ever saw all come true in reality.
This is real, and if we do not fight against it now while it is young it will be to late.
I just didn’t see anything in the associated article about our government wanting to use AI to control the military and national defense, so I wasn’t sure where you got that from. Perhaps I missed something. But yes I’m sure they will use AI in the military against our foes, and I’m good with that.
I think that all governments can do whatever they want with AI, and there’s nothing we can do about it.
One exception: In the US, we CAN do something about it. If the government does anything with AI that violates the Constitution, or our God-given rights, we sue them, take it to the Supreme Court, and/or vote the bums out.
