The Brief Andrey Lupulyak, a 14-time convicted felon, appeared in court after leading police on a high-speed chase through Thurston and King counties, reaching speeds of 135 mph and driving in the wrong direction. Lupulyak faces multiple charges, including attempting to elude, reckless driving, felony DUI, and possession of narcotics, and has an active felony escape warrant for failing to comply after a vehicular homicide conviction. Judge Allyson Zipp set Lupulyak's bail at $100,000, with arraignment scheduled for September 9th, noting the danger posed by his actions during the chase. OLYMPIA, Wash. - A 14-time convicted felon appeared before a judge on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly leading Lacey Police, Thurston County Deputies and Washington State Patrol on a high-speed chase through Thurston and King counties.
Andrey Lupulyak is accused of hitting triple-digit speeds, sometimes driving 135 mph on I-5 and in the opposite direction early Saturday morning.
Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders uploaded a montage of dash camera footage to Facebook, detailing how his agency joined Lacey Police and WSP pursuing Lupulyak, describing him as "likely the most dangerous driver in the state."
What they're saying: "The suspect is a 14 time convicted felon for vehicular homicide DUI, possession of stolen property, burglary, forgery, attempting to elude, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicular assault, and more.
"He also has 10 misdemeanor convictions ranging from multiple DUI’s, assault, theft, reckless driving, DWLS 1st, and more. The suspect currently has an active felony escape warrant for failing to comply after being released from prison on his prior vehicular homicide conviction.
"During a search incident to arrest, the suspect had what we suspect to be methamphetamine and fentanyl in his possession.

He deserves just one more chance...liberal judge
Obviously, he’s been appearing before the state’s most dangerous judges.
Please see how m to prison for many years
mark
If only there were a place where we could put people who are incorrigible and refuse to obey the law?
Sounds like he needs to share a cell with at least 13 judges
Along with a large percentage of the drivers around here driving after and while using marijuana and alcohol... this is why Washington State went from one of the safest states to drive in during my youth to one of the most dangerous places.
“Lupulyak faces multiple charges, including attempting to elude, reckless driving, felony DUI, and possession of narcotics”
In light of all his other arrests and convictions his punishment this time will probably be “Time Served” and a promise never to break a law again.
with $100,000 bail, that means you have to pay between $7,500 and $15,000 to get out of jail. I am sure that he is free this morning. That is the way it works around here. If Zelensky had a son...
Pull him out the car and deal with him by the side of the road.
👍👍
What can you expect from a governor who is attempting to grift $1 TRILLION on the taxpayers by leaving it out of his budget? The WA deficit is in the $100M without it.
Yeah, the forever dirt nap.
Send him back to Ukraine and let him run over Russians.
I thought the guy on “Road Wars” was bad (2024) - ended up with 138 charges in the middle of the Portland Rose Parade while running from the police...he was enraged that exits were closed off for the parade - he barrelled right through barriers etc. Got a 5 year sentence. Lucky no one was killed...
Wonder what’s up with OR and WA drivers!!!
Only 14 felonies? Maybe another $30 fine and a promise to never do it again will change his behavior.
I was watching YouTube and some stupid show popped up on auto play called “We remember the world’s nicest judge.” Apparently there was some loberal lower court muni judge who would listen to the tails of woe from people busted for traffic infractions and drop charges and fines because of their sad tails. “I was speeding because my baby was sick. “ “I was speeding because my dad was sick.” On and on. Half the people didn’t even speak English. And this stupid judge would say, “Oh you poor thing. I am dropping the charges or “that is so sad and you have no money so I am reducing your $200 fine to $5”” The comments were Al” the same “we need more understanding compassionate judges like him.” And this was around the time that poor white Ukrainian woman wa murdered by that inhumane black monster who had been allowed to wander the streets by “compassionate and understanding” nice judges.
SICK. Anyone who has any understanding of law enforcement knows most crimes in a city are perpetrated by the same people over and over.
Take your blood pressure meds...

He was recently in jail and then released for the umpteenth time. My guess is that his family and associates will likely come up with the approximately $10,000 to have him out by the end of the day. He is a drug dealer for goodness sakes... around here that means he has access to a lot of money and is laughing at authorities.
From Grok...
Lupulyak first appeared in Thurston County Superior Court on September 2, 2025 (a Tuesday), where Judge Allyson Zipp found probable cause on seven of eight potential charges. Bail was initially set at $100,000, with conditions that he could not drive if released. Arraignment was scheduled for September 9, 2025, but no public updates on the outcome of that hearing were found in available sources as of September 14, 2025. An additional arrest occurred on September 8, 2025, for possession of a controlled substance while in the correctional institution.
Thurston County jail records (inmate ID Z0091633) list the following active charges under Superior Court Cause Number 2510113634 (from the August 30 arrest):
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver Synthetic Narcotic
Possession of Stolen Property (3rd Degree)
Attempt to Elude Pursuing Police Vehicle
Reckless Driving
Possession of Stolen Vehicle
Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
Under Cause Number 2510118034 (from the September 8 arrest):
Possession of Controlled Substance in Correctional Institution
Bail details:
$20,000 (bondable) for the main case (2510113634)
$1,000 (bondable) for the September 8 charge (2510118034)
These records do not explicitly confirm his release status, but given your statement that he’s currently out on bail, it’s likely he posted or was released under conditions post-arraignment. For the most up-to-date custody status, checking the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office inmate roster directly or contacting the court clerk would provide real-time confirmation.
Criminal History
Court records paint a picture of a long pattern of offenses, primarily related to driving under the influence and related felonies, which has likely been a significant burden on his family. Lupulyak has 14 prior felony convictions and 10 misdemeanor convictions, marking this as his 29th known arrest. Over the past decade, he’s served at least five prison terms, mostly for DUI-related felonies. Local law enforcement, including Sheriff Sanders, has described him as “likely the most dangerous driver in the state” due to his repeated reckless behavior behind the wheel. This history of in-and-out incarcerations, combined with the high-risk nature of his latest incident (which endangered public safety across multiple highways), underscores the ongoing stress and uncertainty his family may be facing— from legal fees and court appearances to community scrutiny and emotional toll.
If you’d like me to dig into specific prior cases (e.g., by cause number or year) or search for any post-arraignment updates, provide more details!
