Jackson shared Kirk's Christian message back in August
Charlie Kirk praised Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the weeks before the conservative influencer was assassinated on a Utah campus on Wednesday.
Jackson took heat in August for sharing a Bible quote Kirk had posted on his X account. The two-time NFL MVP was known for sharing messages of faith on social media and being outward about his Christian faith. Kirk applauded Jackson’s "courage and conviction" amid the backlash.
In the wake of Kirk’s killing, Jackson wasn’t among those who shared a reaction. However, he shared Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith’s post. "Celebrating the death of someone you don’t share the same beliefs as is wild," Smith wrote on X. "Seeing it play out in real time is disgusting."

Erupts? And they don't realize he liked the statement, he didn't write it. SMH.
I will give Jackson a pass (see what I did there?), he’s not a political figure. If I’m reading this right, he is disgusted with celebrating someone’s death whether or not you agree with that person.
Does Lamar Jackson support Donald Trump? Explaining the Ravens QB's 'Truzz Trump' tweet
Maybe he is just a decent human being.
Lamar is very religious Christian.
I have always liked him.
Even though he plays for a team I do not like.
He is also a good sport/loser. He always runs over to the opposing QB to congratulate him after winning or losing the game.
I am a Ravens fan and Lamar fan. I think he is very apolitical. I don’t think he really takes sides (at least not publicly) and that he truly is a decent human being.
Jackson had the Bills on the ropes Sunday night...until Derrick Henry fumbled. I will rooting for Buffalo but I have more respect for him knowing he is a Christian who is not afraid to stand up for his beliefs.
That was one of the best games I’ve watched in a long time.
DH already had 162 yards. Why was he still in the game that late?
40 to 25 with 4 mins left. Should have been eating clock. Then stupid prevent defense. Always prevents a win.
Allen picked them apart.
This.
I applaud Lamar Jackson, it is a measured response.
Go Bills!
That was an incredible ending to a game that seemed lost. Great players, gtreat teams, find a way to win. Or at worst go down fighting.
I dropped the NFL years ago during the kneeling controversy and never came back. Don’t miss it. Never liked the Ravens anyway. But this is a good statement and we should be glad that someone used a platform like his to say that.
