People wonder why Bitcoinis a “thing.”
This is why.
” In actuality, the measure is one step closer toward a national ID system that enables the government to control its citizens’ every move. “
Or is it a way to expose and control the CIA cut-outs operating VN?
The CIA is NOT interested in an independent Vietnam.
And we still get people who insist that Vietnam is a great example of a successful communist society.
I guess it’s true if “successful“ is defined as someone who doesn’t have, or doesn’t want a bank account, or is a party member.
How could anyone forget?!
Charlie is alive and well.
Biometric Data...........
Misleading and exaggerated article. People still have bank accounts and still rent apartments. Bank account withdrawals are regulated, in that one can’t withdraw large amounts of cash without documented reason. No, I don’t want this in the U.S., but Vietnam doesn’t deserve this sort of bashing.
Yep, Charlie never went away. Sneaky little bastards.
Varmint Cong!
Misleading and exaggerated article

Re-read the article again ( and again) until you fully comprehend it.
Gasp. Are you saying that a conspiracy nut would lie?
“Vietnam is a great example of a successful communist society.”
Vietnam is more capitalistic than most societies as the poverty led all the people to start their own businesses to survive. I traveled Vietnam and it appeared that everyone was in business for themselves.
Our government is way ahead of them. Every bank account can be traced to us. This has been true for decades.
This will happen here. You’ll vote for it to keep from the increased street crime you also voted for.
Not us personally but many states and stupid p people.
State Owned, we let the Communist state take over there.
Digital transformation is progressing in Vietnam as the country’s government pursues “Project 06” to modernize its economy and public services. The new national identity system is a cornerstone of the digital transformation plan, which includes civil registration, digital ID and authentication.
A Vietnam Briefing news report says that to enable interactions with public sectors, Vietnam is set to launch digital identity cards that will be added to the VNeID mobile app. These digital IDs were introduced in July with a view of supporting various public sector services. Vietnamese citizens must have the national e-identification VNeID app on their phone and be enrolled in level 2 which includes facial photos together with fingerprint biometrics. Level 1 accounts may be established through the mobile app while level 2 applications require an applicant’s presence at either a Ministry of Public Security MPS or provincial police office for verification.
This digital ID system will also assimilate health and social insurance cards, driving licenses, and birth certificates, thereby increasing convenience and security. Furthermore, users can disable ID to secure it but the government can also terminate an account due to violation of its terms.
Human lives…all wrapped up in nice little digital packages.
The government of Vietnam is in the process of digitalizing its operations through Project 06, which will require the collection of complete biometric data such as facial recognition, fingerprints, iris scanning, voice recording, and DNA for digital identity cards that are needed to access services like online financial transactions and diagnostic medical services.
Whaddya talking 'bout? You deposit or withdraw any amount of cash $10K or above and it gets reported to the Feds. If you consistently deposit or withdraw an amount of cash just under the 10K marker and it's going to get reported. It's already in the US.
