I don't see why not. Whatever floats your boat.

it’s what cemented Eric Clapton well and truly as a guitar-playing god

Clapton is very good, but that guitar work was Duane Allman

Long told story. Ya.

There are two guitars on that great coda. I recommend listening

I’ve seen Clapton play it (1974). It’s him.

There are no hits more colossal than Layla? It’s a good song, but I can think of a hundred better, given time.

On the record, Layla and Other Love Songs, on the recording everyone knows, there are two guitars.

The slide guitar is Duayne, I believe all the other guitars are Clapton. Duane played a lot of slide on the Layla album.

Yeah, Dwayne Allman did a lot of the slide work on that song.

It is a masterpiece up there with stairway to Heaven as far as I’m concerned and it belongs to Eric Clapton, Derrick and the dominoes

He definitely stole it. Everyone knew it. I'm not sure.

Nice boyfriend, stealing her song. He's dead now, she should get his royalty. He spent time in jail for killing his mother.

It happens. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing was written by Ray Parker Jr., but the record company stole it, and assigned the rights to Leo Sayer and some other guy.

I've seen someone play Beethoven. Does that mean they wrote, Fur Elise.

Rita Coolidge had written those piano lines, Jim Gordon (the drummer) heard it and used it for Layla, (it was Jim Gordon on piano).

Jim Gordon died in prison a few years ago - was serving a life sentence for killing his mother with a hammer.

So, stealing a song was small potatoes for Jimmy....

Near the end of this piece (7 1/2 minutes or so), it is stated that according to Bobby Whitlock (keyboardist for Derek and the Dominos) it was actually Rita’s sister who recorded the song.
